Trump does not acknowledge school shooting while tweeting about 52K missing emails (which is lie anyway and a victory of sort), Gun safety Report, Trump & NRA-Russia Ties, Freedom’s Safest Place, Gun Sense Action Network, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Sustainable Action Network (SAN)
On Tuesday this week, at 7:57 am, just three minutes before school was scheduled to start for
the day at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, a 15-year-old boy
shot and killed two of his classmates and injured 17 others.
Of course Donald J. Trump was too busy tweeting about lies with regard to the 52,000 emails rather than even kaming a statement and what am I saying here? He did not even acknowledge it. Yet again, he had the time to blast tweets about the fake Russian news about the emails and releasing that Nunez memo.
Although, that could have been a victory of sort considering after every other mass shooting, he blames it on being a terrorist act 18 seconds after he hears about on Trump news (Fox news).
Once
again, a senseless act of gun violence has visited a place of learning and left
a community shattered. Once again, Americans are left to wonder when our leaders
will say enough is enough and do something to make us safer from gun
violence.
We wish
we could say that shootings like this — shootings in our schools — were
unimaginable, but we know that they are not. This is the just the 24th day of
2018 and we have already had eleven school shootings in America. Three in just
the last two days.
Maybe you
heard about yesterday’s school shooting, or maybe this is news to you right now,
but we were absolutely shocked by the lack of attention this tragedy received on
cable news during the day, and broadcast news early in the evening.
It was
just twenty years ago that a school shooting in Paducah, Kentucky — less than 50
miles from yesterday’s tragedy — captured the stunned attention of a nation, yet
today these events happen with such alarming frequency that they barely merit a
passing mention on broadcasts across the country.
Thoughts
and prayers will not stop the next school shooting. Our leaders must find the
courage to take action. But while this crisis is not normal, it is also not
inevitable. We know how to solve this problem. We know concrete, commonsense
steps Congress and state legislatures can take to protect our kids in their
classrooms, in cafeterias, and on playgrounds.
But in
order to do that, we need leaders with the courage to stand up to the gun
lobby.
So we
have a choice. We can, as Senator Chris Murphy says, succumb to the “fiction of
hopelessness” long cultivated by a gun lobby committed to protecting the profits
of manufacturers at the expense of our communities.
Or we can
act.
We can
demand that our leaders not only acknowledge this devastating problem, but that
they take long overdue action to keep our children safe.
We mourn
for the community in Benton, Kentucky. We grieve for the families all across our
country who have lost loved ones or had their lives changed forever because of
gun violence.
But we
are committed to action as well, to prevent future tragedies and to build a
safer communities for our kids. We can’t thank you enough for standing with us
in that fight.
REPORT: FBI Investigating Whether Russian Money Went To NRA To Help Trump [1] The NRA is undermining American values and will stop at NOTHING to push its agenda. A new report uncovered that the NRA could have spent more than $70 million to elect Donald Trump and their cronies in Congress last election — more than any other outside group! But that's not all, The FBI is investigating a top Russian banker with close ties to Vladimir Putin and the NRA to see if money was illegally funneled to the NRA in order to support Donald Trump's campaign. If true, this would mean that the NRA leadership will go to any lengths to push their extremist agenda further. Please help if you can.
“The
FBI is looking into whether a Russian banker with ties to the Kremlin illegally
funneled money to the National Rifle Association to help Donald Trump secure the
presidency” - CNN
Congressman
Adam Schiff, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, is on the
record saying the connection is an “issue of concern” to his committee, but that
there are “limited resources.”
Here is
the truth: no outside group spent more money in support of Donald Trump than the
NRA. None. And it is hard to imagine a more disturbing thought for our democracy
than a foreign country using a massive organization like the NRA as a
pass-through to exert financial influence on our elections.
Congress
must investigate this potential connection. Add your name if you
agree: Sign
our petition calling on Congress to investigate the question of whether or not
the Russian government funneled money to the NRA in the last election.
The NRA
likes to say that it is “Freedom’s Safest Place.” It’s all over their
advertisements, videos, website, and other materials. Well, for the future of
the freedoms all of us hold dear, we need to get to the bottom of whether or not
they allowed the Russian government to funnel money through their organization
to help elect Trump.
