132 Animals Were Rescued From the Worst Zoo In Mexico
The zoo in Tulancingo is considered by animal activists to be one of the worst in the country. That unwanted classification as well as a deadly mauling by zoo lion that left one zookeeper dead, probably spurred Mexican officials to take a closer look at what was happening behind the zoo's enclosures. Send the 132 Rescued Animals of the Nicolas Bravo Zoo to a Sanctuary
Watch the amazing operation that saved a raptor. Raptors rely so much on their superior flying abilities. Eagles, falcons, hawks, owls – when healthy, they soar and dive and speed through the air with such grace. But when injured, their wings can’t push enough air to keep them airborne. They tumble back to the ground where they stay, defeated and frightened.

But with your help, they can fly again! Our Beijing Raptor Rescue Center rescues injured raptors, carefully and expertly rehabilitates them, and then releases them back to the sky.

We are currently caring for 28 raptors! With your support, you can help us rehabilitate them so they can be released back to the skies. We need your help now to save these raptors and all the animals we rescue-rehab-release!

As you can see in the slideshow, our dedicated veterinarians are using an amazing technique to get injured birds back to the sky.

Feather transplants involve taking undamaged feathers from birds who have passed away, and implanting them into the wings and tails of injured live birds. After recovery and careful rehabilitation, the healthy raptors are then released back to the wild.

Watching a rehabilitated bird take to the sky again is so inspiring. But we can’t do this lifesaving work without the generosity of animal lovers like you.

25 Animals Rescued!
When a facility we previously settled with violated the terms of our agreement by keeping new animals in poor conditions, we stepped in to rescue them. Watch footage of the rescue.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)

The Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico — the island's only zoo — is home to roughly 150 animals that are living in deteriorating and dangerous conditions.
Within the last year, several animals, including newborn tiger cubs, and a tiger named Angel died at the zoo because of neglect and improper handling. And the situation has only worsened since Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico last September.

Before Hurricane Maria, we had been working with the Puerto Rican government to help find the animals better homes. Now, negotiations have stalled. Friend, we need to take immediate action before any more animals die.

Please sign our petition to the government of Puerto Rico asking them to release the animals at the zoo to new homes where they can get the care they need.

Our hope is that the Puerto Rican government will allow these animals to leave the zoo and get the proper care they need and deserve. Your voice will help make that happen — so please sign our petition today. The lives of these animals may depend on it.
