On this day on May 19th, 1974, we went to the Flyers / Bruins game to watch the Philadelphia Flyers win their first Stanly Cup at the Spectrum turning out to be one of the best days of my life (I have only had like 5 to 7 best days of my life BTW)!

Rick MacLeish scored the lone goal streaming past the blue line flicking it in with his quintessential and impossible to stop wrist shot.

Bernie Parent had the shut out in that 1-0 game.

Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito tried to psych out the Flyers and us fans by handing over a bouquet of flowers and roses to Kate Smith after she finished singing 'God Bless America'.

I also made the cover of a section in the local paper here in NJ on this date but more recent....
