Los Angeles Rams season ends last night with Loss to Atlanta Falcons, When is Draft Day? Look at 2018 Schedule and the Super Bowl Next Year is at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (where my teams have won Two Championships)!
And, even though the team handed them the game by fumbling on the one yard line in the game vs the Vikings. And, even though we had those weird penalties called on us handing the Eagles 10 or so points and 3 minutes time at the end of that game, the offense scored over 30 some points against both those teams.
Our Defense happened to have allowed more points those games and we lost our first two bigger than life games that you have to win if you want to compete in the Super Bowl.
Ironically, even though both teams had players injured during it, the Eagles lost their Quarterback for the entire season. And, he was headed to be the Most Valuable Player in the entire League.
Which honestly, I had or have no clue how that works today.
The last time the Rams were in a Playoff Game was like 13 years ago and therefore, we were still dealing the old and traditional way where the Wild Card team plays the team with the best record and the two teams that also won the other Divisions play each other and so on so forth to the Championship games.
For which I am not even sure why winning a Division somehow gets a team in the Wild Card game....
It was another one of those games where you just sat there waiting for the team to surge the hell ahead already, to win in this knit picking game that we had to play last night.
That never happened and it was hard to watch an Atlanta Falcons team control the Ram team.
The Rams had the ball on Offense one time in the entire 3rd Quarter. I should say two times because they did get the ball with three seconds remaining in the third quarter and therefore they did get another play off to begin that set of downs.
Jared Goff threw about 7 passes either at peoples feet and he threw about two passes behind other receivers. Pharoah Cooper fumbled three times if you count the one caused by the ground and he screwed up some other play too. The best returner in the game today played the worst game he ever played by far.
The Rams also have had issues stopping the clock or slowing it down, but then again, I can say in the same breathe that they could score at the drop of a dime and at an instant.
The Rams played two tiered like that this year.
Last night, they got the ball back with 6:08 remaining in the game and you knew there would be no way, shape in hell they could score before the two minute warning (and we needed two scores to take any lead by then).
When a fast and scrambling Defense gets at them, they flounder on Offense.
When they can control the Defense, they score 50 points a game.
And, this Ram Defense gets so much hype that when you take last night's game, the Minnesota game and the Eagles game, our Defenders grazed the backs and helmets of these quarterbacks over 20 times missing them every time falling on their faces hitting the ground.
They are always a step behind even though I know how they do get them sometimes. But they also missed many sacks this year.
And, with games they have zero turnovers, the Rams lost. Case in point was last nights game where we had no turnovers in our direction. Conversely, we lost at least two fumbles and maybe even an Interception but I can't even remember that nuance right now.
Considering the obvious parody this year league wide, the Rams are still not able to play with the big boys. Even though the so called big boys are not even that far ahead of this Ram team.
We are not there yet.
In my eyes, the Patriots are probably the team to beat, however and it is big however, they are a tad lower level this year compared to past years. They are beatable compared to past years but they do have that constant that I will vote for even to this day in Tom Brady.
When speaking about our Ram team, we no doubt achieved a major goal this year. I should not look at that gift horse in the mouth so to speak. I did though fall into that prey where I thought we could feasibly compete this year in these Playoff's and even in Championship Games.
I will say it now that the goal for the team to achieve next year is to make it to the Super Bowl.
We must compete for the Super Bowl.
After all, that is part of my plan dating back to the Pre-Season Game (where I said that the goal this year is to make the Playoffs and the goal in 2018/2019 would be to win a Super Bowl) last year.
Remember please, I seem to win championships in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Rams won that year vs. the Titans at the Georgia Dome and my Maryland Terps won the NCAA Basketball Championships in 2003 when the Final Four games also happened to be in the old Georgia Dome.
Next year, the Super Bowl game is in that Rubik Cube stadium where oi, these god for-saken Atlanta Falcons that beat the Rams last night happen to play their home games.
Also, here is the 2018 teams we play which I am planning on seeing a game at the Los Angeles Coliseum next year.
I have never seen a game at that Stadium (when I moved to LA initially in 1990, the Rams had already moved to Anaheim). I have been there many times. I have done sightseeing tours there when we were the only ones in the entire place. And, I saw the Grateful Dead there in 1991. I saw Metallica in the early to mid nineties.
Never saw a Ram game at the Coliseum.
With the end of the 2017 regular season, we now know who the Rams will face in the 2018 regular season.
Aside from its divisional opponents, Los Angeles will take on the NFC North and the AFC West. The club will also square off against the division winners in the NFC East, Philadelphia, and the NFC South, New Orleans.
Below is the full list of Rams opponents, and where the match ups will take place. The dates and times of the games will be announced later in the off season.
