Help Students Affected by the NorCal Fires

Help Students Affected by the NorCal Fires

We are 7th grade students at Vallemar Elementary School in Pacifica which is about 60 miles south of the Sonoma and Napa county fires in the north bay. Due to the very unhealthy air quality from the fires nearby, we have had to hold our PE class indoors. During our class discussions, when we all said that we were sad for the people affected, our PE Coach suggested that we do something to help the victims. We decided that we wanted to help other students whose schools or homes have burned down. We are hoping to raise enough money to help them with whatever needs they have for things that they lost in the fires - books, school supplies, sports equipment, backpacks, etc. which can be important when you're a kid. If you're wondering why we are different from other campaigns you can donate to, it's because we are students that want to help other students. We can smell the smoke in the air - it makes our eyes and heads hurt and we hope we are never in a sad situation like they are, so we want to do whatever we can to make them feel better.  So many people lost everything and it will take a long time to recover, so we are running this campaign for 30 days. Sometimes people forget about helping or donating after a while but we know that they will need help for many months. We will post an update with more information once we are in contact with one of the schools that needs help. Thank you for reading this!
