SeaWorld's TV ads claim that the company has changed, yet it continues to force orcas to perform, imprisons them (including a newborn calf) in tiny concrete tanks, and breeds other animals for exploitation.
Nick Cannon takes SeaWorld to task in a NSFW rant during his Showtime comedy special "Stand Up, Don't Shoot."
PETA's mission statement is that animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way: http://www.peta.org/about-peta/
Drift gillnets meant to catch swordfish
are a huge threat to dolphins, who needlessly die in this fishing gear even
though they are not the intended target. Recently, the California drift gillnet
fishery for swordfish resumed without desperately needed protections for at-risk
animals like dolphins, sea turtles and other marine life. This is unacceptable.
These nets should be replaced with safer fishing methods.
Please sign our petition today to show your
support for Oceana's fight to get drift gillnets out of the
water. Your strong support is needed to maintain the health and
biodiversity of California's marine ecosystem.
