Karan
had spent his life doing the heavy lifting and lugging of a working animal. But
his rescue by PETA-supported Indian animal-relief organization Animal Rahat gave
him a new life—one that he absolutely loves.
Animal Rahat found the camel
tied up under a bridge. He had no food or water, was emaciated, and was
suffering from severe mange. To make matters worse, he had a deep laceration on
his forehead and several wounds on his hips. By the time his owner said that the
wounds had come from a car accident, the Animal Rahat team knew Karan needed its
help.
Rescuers immediately transferred the ailing camel to Animal
Rahat's Home for Retired Bullocks and gave him food, plenty of water, rest, and
the veterinary care that he desperately needed.
Now, he spends his days
with his camel friends Waheed and Tracy being groomed by Animal Rahat staff,
sunbathing, and relaxing. Karan loves his new home so much, he can't contain
himself.
