The Weekly Real Time Recap!

Bill and his guests tonight are Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Heather McGhee, Charles Murray and John Waters with Killer Mike Render on the show later on tonight. We have so much to discuss after this crazy week.

The train wreck which could feasibly have been a malicious and stupid event with someone maybe throwing a rock or shooting the window out on the train. We have Jeb Bush's flubs this week and what is amounting to yet another poor showing for him this week. We have the death penalty sentencing for the Boston Bomber kid and what else? I forget. He may touch into Shell Oil getting the nod by our POTUS to be able drill in the Arctic which of course shows how Obama can give 8 shits about the climate and about our environment and most of all, how he allows companies and people to continue plunder our Earth as ways to make it a lot of money.

I forget what else went down this week but lets get this show going tonight!
Excited people in the studio. Excited. "Thank you ladies and gentlemen"

Oh that's right. Mitt Romney is fighting a faux boxing match with Evander Holyfield that Bill says should be a lot like last weeks fight (Merriweather/Pacquio). And that Mitt likes to get beat by black guys. Which is why he is doing the fight for charity when honestly, I refused to feed into that promotion this week. My feeling is that he (Willard) should just give whatever charity the money he wants to shell out and not spend anything on this dumb event. Because why go through the recouping process and waste of spending when again, that money could have gone into paying upfront whatever charity even more money that they are giving whatever amount to after that fake fight. I think its a dumb promotion.

And, yes. A double whammy with Bill saying  that we have witnessed one of the worst train wrecks ever which of course is Jeb Bush's campaign. Now, that is funny stuff. And, answering the question wrong two different ways? Bill. He has literally answered it 4 different ways although two of them may have been the correct way now that I hear him in the literal sense (meaning he answered it twice wrong before he finally it right). But man. what a debacle trying to answer that question that with hindsight knowing what we know today, is / was going into Iraq the right thing to do for America? I get he wants to protect or back his brother, but still, so much for being his own man when running for POTUS. Actually, Bill does mention that he did have a different answer literally everyday this week until he finally said it was a fuck up. The Undecider he is referred to by Bill and that is also right. This was done on Fox News too.

And, wait a second, Prescott Bush was not a great guy per se. Please read what I wrote in my 'Diary of a Ram Fan' book about that revisionist history:

"Bush Sr. is the son of Prescott Bush. Prescott worked with Fritz Theyssen, one of Hitler backers at the firm called Brown Brothers Harriman Investment Firm, through the Holding Company called Union Banking Corporation. All of these accounts were directly managed by Prescott Bush. And much like that era in U.S. History, when Prescott Bush helped the Nazi's bankroll their government, the question would be whether Bush Sr., could affiliate himself with Gorbachev. Also, much like the 40s in the cold war era with the Soviets, Bush Sr. appoints Dick Cheney to be the Defense Secretary, while appointing the William Casey crony, Robert Gates, to be the Security Advisory for him and for the United States people."
"There are so many conflicts that it is not even normal to repeat out loud, but to start, there is Fritz Thyssen. (Fritz) Thyssen is one of Hitler's money backers with his wealth protected by using the firm called Brown Brothers Harriman Investment Firm, through a Holding Company called Union Banking Corporation. These accounts are managed during this era by Prescott Bush. In 1942, the US government seized Union Bank, including four (4) of (Fritz) Thyssen's accounts that again, are being managed by Prescott Bush. After the war ended, that money was paid back to its shareholders, including Prescott Bush."
"IBM's owner and founder (Tom Watson), provided the punch card systems for the Nazi's. Therefore, IBM had the accounts to be in every train station during that war. The IBM company coordinates, documents and organizes everyone who passes though those stations. There were no computers back then, but IBM used punch cards to document exactly what happened to Jews, gay people, black people and/or any form of what could be a liberal person. The system could show the outcome of the final destinations of what were 6 million Jewish people that died in those concentration camps. It also documented the experiments done on these people. If they were transported on any rail system throughout Europe, the IBM Company were the ones that made sure everything ran smoothly while they incinerated millions of people. Those American based companies all created new names by way of a subsidiary. They used other names overseas and in Germany. Coca Cola started Fanta. Exxon created ESSO., and the GM company created the subsidiary they based in Germany named Opal. Alfred Sloan, the head at GM, produced the transport vehicles, and other military vehicles to transport the German Army. Henry Ford, the founder and head at the Ford Automobile Company, wrote the book, “The International Jew: The World's Foremost Problem.” Ford's German subsidiary manufactured military vehicles for the Germans throughout the entire war. And, they did it with full compliance and with full consent from the Ford Company based here in the United States, in Detroit (Michigan). Hitler kept a portrait hung of (Henry) Ford at his office in Munich (Germany). Both GM (General Motors) and Ford refused to stop operations as they took that stand that these German subsidiaries have indeed complied with the needs of the German Government. They were issued and they agreed to manufacture more weapons and used for the war, while at the same times they all resisted the request to assist the U.S.A to help make us weapons for this very war. Ford, GM, Standard Oil, GE, ITT, Alcoa, Kodak, Westinghouse, DuPont, Douglas Aircraft, Pratt & Whitney, International Harvester, Singer and United Fruit all continued to trade with Germany into the early 40's. The U.S. Officials have also known about the concentration death camps as early as 1942."
"Stalin would meet with Churchill to sort out what to do about the European, regions and the other countries after the war is done. FDR truly thought that he could live out his life to be able to see peace in the world. But after twelve (12) years as the President of the United States, FDR died in 1945. Any peace treaty that had been drawn up in Yalta just two months prior to FDR's death, between the British, the United States and with Soviet Union, would not stay in affect for that long. Truman was in office for 82 days. He had spoken to FDR two times during that span of time. And then, eleven (11) days after FDR's death, while he was newly set up in office, and one day after Truman's only meeting ever with any Soviet official, Truman accused the Soviets of breaking the Yalta agreement. Stalin felt betrayed, which is why relations between the Soviet Union and with the United Stated deteriorated very quickly. However on May 7th, 1945, Germany surrenders during part of the World War II."
"The perception is that the USA reluctantly dropped 2 Nuclear Bombs to save the lives of hundreds of thousands of people poised to die after an invasion of Japan. Many people view World War II as the “Good War,” when the United States and it's allies freed anyone from Germany's Nazism, Italy's Fascism and Japan's Militarism. The reality is that World War II is one of the most deadly wars, with over 60 million people killed in this Second World War (27,000,000 Soviets, 10,000,000-20,000,000 Chinese, 6 Million Jews, 6 Million Germans, 3,000,000 Non Jewish poles (Poland), 2.5 Million Japanese, 1.5 Million Yugoslavs). Another 250K to 500K were also killed in Austria, Britain, France, Italy and Romania. Japan rapidly industrialized its army in 1931, 6 years before the Rams' first year ever in football. They did it by entering into Manchuria. The Chinese government took over those Chinese military bases. At the same time in Europe, Adolph Hitler was building up the German war machine, his very own military, and along with an ally in Italy, leader, Benito Mussolini. These were the first moves that would start a global war. In either cases, no major (super) power in the world came to the defense of the countries now under Fascist and Military rule."

But I did love this week, is when the Congress defunded Am Trak the day after the train wreck. Then, some of the people freaked out about the debate vs. that move. The GOP hates trains because of the lobbyist of course but Bill makes a great joke about why. And, also, my question is that too, why does "Tom Brady's ball handler" (aka the Train Driver) forget what happened after he left the 30th Street Train Station in Philadelphia? What the hell is that all about?

The Interview tonight is with someone named Ayaan Hirsi Ali whom is a writer, politician, and human rights activist whose latest book is Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now. She is the founder of the AHA Foundation, a non-profit working to end honor violence against women and elevate the status of women and girls globally. I never heard of the guy so i hope I learn something now. Actually, scratch that one because I know exactly who she is and I totally know her history. She is great. I feel badly for what she had gone through as a kid but she is one of the only people I have known that have told the mainstream if you will, that real story about how women are treated in parts of the Middle East. I also hate the bee keepers suits the women in the Middle east say they like to wear, but I have to admit that I find some of them very attractive in them. I remember in Homeland when Carrie had to wear one, she looked odd in it. I think cause she is so Americana looking and she has total blond hair in that production. But obviously that much of Islam's beliefs are a total assault on progressive and liberal views and platforms. If you truly believe in Liberalism, those beliefs are odd to the likes of us but I love her. She is a true hero in this regard.

Anyway, great interview. Nice and hefty and she gets to say everything she wanted to say which is great. But, on the Panel tonight is/are Heather McGhee is the President of Demos, a public policy organization dedicated to increasing social and economic equality in America. She recently wrote about efforts to bring inequality to the center of the 2016 debate for The Huffington Post. Twitter: @hmcghee. Charles Murray is a political scientist and scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. He is the author of By the People: Rebuilding Liberty Without Permission. Twitter: @charlesmurray and none other than John Waters is an artist, author, and filmmaker whose book Carsick: John Waters Hitchhikes Across America is now available in paperback. Waters’ 50 film oeuvre – which includes cult hits “Pink Flamingos” and “Hairspray” - will be honored the by British Film Institute in September. I love heather McGhee. I find her very attractive and I am not sure whom is Charles Murray to me and we all know John Waters big time.

I also agree when Bill says that saying how the democrats wanted to invade Iraq was BS. Jeb Bush saying that Hillary wanted to do it was / is a total farce. First and second, Hillary said it was mistake out loud in interviews and she wrote about the mishap in a book. She may have been an idiot to vote into it after (George) Bush Jr. pushed to relate 9/11 to Iraq and to Saddam, but she made no bones about it being a bad move by her in writing in her book and verbally in interviews. Plus, like Bill also says just now, Richard Clark and many other people (that were real) saw that manipulation that Bush Jr. and Dick Cheney pulled on us.

Yeah. I heard Ted Cruz or maybe it was Marco Rubio that said this week that the world is a better place with Saddam Husein dead which is a talking point from that GOP's playbook 8 years ago. Besides, it is also not a true assessment because the Middle East and Iraq is much worse for its people today, and it is also much worse for the world today compared to when he was at that helm. I mean do not get me wrong because it was the lesser of all evils but us going into that war was NOT worth the outcome by any means of it (not the loss but the deaths and the maiming of body parts our military people had to endure all of those years and again, for what?).

As for the Train wreck. I am not sure why we cannot get funding for better trains. The Far East has trains that exceed 300 miles per hour and we are building a train route in California that will have trains that go 180 Miles per hour. It makes no sense to me.  Plus, we could have trains with zero percentile crash rates. If we really want to build that type of a system, we could do it within a couple years from today. It is nonsense that we have a horrible train system in America.

Our infrastructure as a whole is down right awful. Train routes and trains that run on them are lumped into that too. That stimulus package did nothing for the broad scheme of our infrastructure needs. I mentioned it on this same blog report but from last week. We are saying the same things every week. This is not rocket science or brain surgery. We all know what needs to get done. We need to do it.

Plus, our congress approves spending for the defense and Bill even mentioned the amounts of wasted spending on weaponry, planes and whatnot, that we never even use one time. It is wild that we can spend that money on defense like we do but nothing comparatively gets spent on things that ordinary people in America need done every day. Our streets and bridges are mangled today. They are disasters waiting to happen today. There are so many roads and bridges that are so dated and so antiquated architecture wise and ironically too, building up to date structures I mention would and will create so much work and so many jobs. It is a win, win, win situation for us people in America and yet we cannot even remotely get that type of a bill to become a law. Plus, we would be more efficient as people in America which would help the larger picture

Tonight's funny skit is entitled the Millennial Bible: King James Franco Edition.

A new Pew poll finds that the Christian population in America has dropped by 8% in just the past seven years, mainly because millennials are leaving the fold. Now Christians are scrambling to get young people back on board with a new translation of the Bible called the King James Franco Bible.

That was funny to hear and now is the Mid-Show Interview. Bill is bringing out now Michael Render a.k.a Killer Mike is a rap artist and activist. His album as part of the rap duo Run the Jewels, “Run the Jewels 2,” dropped in October of 2014. In May, he published an op-ed in Billboard on the media’s treatment of racially motivated police violence. Twitter: @killermikegto. I don't him either. I also do NOT recognize him but he has some very funny and cool things to say at the outset or as he gets introduced to everyone as he sets himself down at the table.

His (Killer Mike) dad was a cop which if he complains about our police, his opinions would have some credibility. But I also agree that a good cop should call out the bad ones. This guy has some astute things to say about the Policing in America. And, how many do not live in those communities which would be huge and a throw back to the old days of Policing (although, the Police back then may have been more corrupt then they are today but anyway). Excellent segment BTW. What is the black hand shake today? I don't even know what it is. They are joking about it now.

I also forgot about Michelle Obama's speech this week and how the Fox news staffers, the Rush Limbaugh's and the Bill O' Reillys of the world got totally pissed off at it. It said a lot about growing up black and I am not sure why these white bread American's get so freaked out about someone talking about her very own experiences but its odd behavior to freak out that way.

BTW, I also totally forgot that John Waters is from and lives in Baltimore today and had lived there for a while now. I forgot about it but he was in Atlanta doing the Chipmunks Movie's movie during the riots. He was though, arrested and tossed into a Baltimore cop van like kid that died in before those riots, however, he had rode in it without his back getting broken, but still.

Interesting about Killer Mikes opinions about people burning down your own community (the CVS, etc.) which I balked at that week. I can now see how those people in those communities probably hate how whomever comes in to build business from outside of their community. It is known as gentrification. They touch into it 'Treme' of course and even in 'Shameless' on TV.

And, finally, the Boston Bomber's sentencing which I wrote many times about how I truly thought that he would get life in prison. I was surprised but I also get it too. I maintain that life in that cell for him is much worse than an instant death but then again, I am against the death penalty as a whole so I am not a good one to have that opinion about him or it. It still freaks me out that whomever knows its death day. I was even freaked out after I heard the verdict of that sentencing for him to face. Even though I know he killed a kid and maimed so many people and killed other good people. It still freaks me out to give someone death. Not that I condone it. Like I said here. I get it. But its weird to me.

And, it is time "to go to new rules". New Rules. Bill Maher now delivers the latest decrees from on high.

And, duh! Total New Rule. Do not work as a staffer for Kim Jong-un. That could lead to your death just for nodding off on the job. And, wait a second here? People have sex with the tail pipe of cars? Wow. That must hurt. I also cannot "un see that now".

Oops. a screw up with production. LOL. In his editorial New Rule, Bill Maher explores America's infatuation with British accents.
What I cannot believe is the converse. I cannot believe how many Brits I find out are NOT American after I see them in their acting roles. Like that kid from 'We're The Millers'. The red haired actor. He is from Ireland or somewhere in the UK. That blew me away. It actually shows me or tellsme they can act but the best one ever for me, was/is Alexander Skaarsgard. When he did his role as the quintessential American Marine in 'Generation Kill' only for me to find out he is from Norway or from somewhere in the Eastern parts of Europe, blew me away. Plus, he was a Vampire or something in that Vampire show (I have never seen it; I think its called 'True Blood') on HBO too.

Most of all, we do have Kim Kardashians giant ass in America. What Bill and I say is that giant ass, we both mean it to be Kanye West of course.

And, last or BTW, Bill wrote this up yesterday: Operation Selective Memory - May 13, 2015 HBO:
By Bill Maher

So far in 2015 only one American soldier has died in Iraq. In 2014, there were three. The year before that there was only one.

Now let’s take a look at the middle of George Bush’s presidency: in 2004, there were 849 American soldiers killed in Iraq. In 2005, 846. In 2006, 823.

Of the 4490 American soldiers killed in Iraq, only 268 came during the Obama presidency; 94 percent are on Bush’s watch. And the reason is clear: because Obama pulled the combat troops out of Iraq. All of them.

Whenever Bush or Cheney or McCain or someone else on the right talks about the chaos that has ensued since we left Iraq, liberals automatically go to, “Well, you caused it!” And they did. Republicans have a bit of a case of selective memory when it comes to Iraq. And when I say “a bit” I mean “clinically diagnosable.”

But liberals also shouldn’t run from reality. Is Iraq more unstable because we left the country? Yes, it is. ISIS would not be running as free in Iraq had we maintained a troop presence there. Of course, Iraq wouldn’t look like Vermont, but it wouldn’t be quite the epic disaster we see today. It would be a high-grade disaster, much like it was when we pulled out. Because no matter what we like to think, America’s capacity to use its military to affect positive change in the Middle East is fairly limited. And for evidence of that you can look back at, oh, every time we’ve tried it. If we stayed for another three years and then left, we’d likely have the same result.

But here’s the tradeoff for increased instability in Iraq: lots of Americans aren’t being killed and maimed. We’re also not spending hundreds of millions of dollars a week to maintain a troop presence there. Is Iraq less stable? Yes, it is. Would I like try the Republican alternative of stationing 20,000 (or more) troops in Iraq in perpetuity? No, I wouldn’t. I like it when American soldiers aren’t being killed by the hundreds in order to barely keep a lid on a sectarian bloodbath that has been brewing since long before John McCain was born.

We have two weeks off while Bill plays live in the UK over them and so regardless of at all this week, please stay in touch.
