Morning Joe Recap Today!

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday to you!
Joining us for today's show, we have:
David Ignatius, Andrea Mitchell, Jeremy Peters, Jon Gilbert, Al Hunt, Jon Meacham, Sen. Tim Kaine, John Heilemann, Katty Kay, Randa Habib, Sen. Joe Manchin, Mike Barnicle, Rep. Mac Thornberry, Robert Grenier, Ayman Mohyeldin, Bill Browder, Reggie Love, Sen. John McCain, Sara Eisen and Barry Manilow

The show starts off by Joe saying that it’s a ‘packed news day’ today.

  • First, a Metro North train crash near Westchester, New York when that commuter train hits an S.U.V. according to the on the scene reporter (I forget her name...sorry) who then says that pushed the S.U.V. truck more than a football fields length down the tracks before it came to a halt.
It sounds like some woman felt the thing that goes up and down to stop people from crossing when a train is passing had slammed down on her trunk or on the back of her car/truck. She then got out of the car for some reason while some people in back of her were yelling to back the vehicle up however that woman got back into her car before pulling it forward to try to beat the train which she did not make it. So far, 7 people are known to be dead. At the height of the evening rush on Tuesday that train slammed into a sport-utility vehicle on the tracks at a crossing, creating a fiery crash and explosion and that forced the evacuation of hundreds of other people. It was the deadliest crash in the railroad’s history. The train hit the S.U.V., a black Jeep Cherokee, in the crossing at Commerce Street in Valhalla, N.Y., around 6:30 p.m., officials with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said. The driver of the vehicle and six people on the train were killed, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said after touring the scene late Tuesday. “This is a truly ugly and brutal sight,” he said. Mr. Cuomo said the car was stopped on the tracks and the crossing gates were down when it was hit by the train, resulting in a fire that consumed the vehicle and the first car of the train. The train pushed the S.U.V. about 400 feet, and the explosion caused the third rail of the track to go through the front train car, Mr. Cuomo said. And, even though there have been train issues over the last few years, this was not caused by the train company or any of its staff and it was indeed caused by a person driving in her S.U.V. truck.

Also, there was an airplane crash in or near Taiwan and w
hoa. There is actual footage of the plane crashing into a river in the city of Taiwan which the plane clips the highway before plummeting into the River that goes through that city. So far 23 people have been found dead and 28 or so I think made it out alive with 14 more people I think are said to be still MIA. The recovery efforts are going on as we speak now. It seems like there was engine failure but its not conformed yet. It was reported that the pilot was yelling “May Day, May Day” which leads me and the panel to wonder if the pilot somehow guided the plane into the river and not into the buildings that it just missed too.

Big Story is that Jordan ‘makes a strong statement’ as it hangs two prisoners after ISIS burns pilot alive. Its been asked whether that
Jordanian pilot was burned alive after sick Twitter campaigns among ISIS supporters to name his method of death? That’s crazy but it could be true and I also wondered why set him on fire compared to say beheading him. I was surprised by the the setting of him on fire and I can’t even believe I am saying these sentences out loud here. Its so warped. But yeah, many
ISIS supporters launched sickening and insane Twitter campaign after pilot's capture and Called for brutal execution suggestions, prompting thousands of ideas in some twitter campaigns. Those methods suggested included burning alive and being run over with a bulldozer - the techniques that featured in the gruesome murder video and thousands of other ideas were also shared by depraved supporters online Kasasbeh's 22-minute murder video emerged yesterday, showing his gruesome death in a bomb hit courtyard in ISIS stronghold Raqqa Burning and crushing ritual supposed to symbolize being killed in airstrike. Thousands of ISIS supporters took to Twitter in the days after Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh was captured to suggest sick methods of execution - including the two techniques that ultimately resulted in his death, it emerged today. Kasasbeh was seen being burnt alive before being run over by a bulldozer in a 22-minute-long video released by the terror group yesterday, in which the level of barbarism and brutality sunk to new lows, even by ISIS' depraved standards. The method of murder raises the chilling prospect that ISIS may have been influenced by the Twitter campaign, which used the Arabic hashtag #SuggestAWayToKillTheJordanianPilotPig to elicit ideas from the terror group's supporters.

Richard Engel states that the video is “disgusting” as the young Jordanian pilot was doused in gas before it was lit on fire inside a cage. Jordanians are pissed off by it and rightly so. I ask w
hat will be next from this ISIS group. Mika reports how they (ISIS) have no boundaries and they (ISIS) have care about anything or what anyone thinks about them (ISIS). She also states how ISIS taunts the world with its killing of people and I agree with that report.

David Ignatius is on talking with Joe and Mika about how Japan seeks revenge for the first time since WWII. (
David) Ignatius says that this is actually making people in the Arab world angry. That’s interesting to hear. He (
David Ignatius) also maintains that those regions have this ‘code of revenge” which after seeing that killing by fire, it has made the Jordanians very angry. Andrea Mitchell is on too who has reported on the 26 year old American girl that had been captured by ISIS. She was an aid that was somehow captured by the ISIS group I think back in 2013. She (Andrea Mitchell) reports that ISIS has wiped out borders which makes it hard for the USA to fight vs. them. I reported that also two years ago or last year how they decimated that Northern Iraq region and basically took it over so it could get in and out of those two neighboring countries above it and easily. Regardless of what I say, the hope is that her gender will keep her from getting killed by them in general let alone in any vicious way, and she has not yet been put on film or video (I did not even know about that girl being captured  or in captivity with ISIS) which seems to be their (ISIS) M.O. She (Andrea Mitchell) also says that Jordanians seem to be rallying around the Jordanian leader who met with Obama this week.

Joe says this offends the very people it is trying to gain acceptance with in that region and Mika states that they may have some type of a death wish. I think they just do NOT care about anything but their own selves and whatever that belief is, and I agree with Joe saying that if they set this dude on fire yesterday, why would they not kill some woman? It’s a weird standard quite frankly that they kill people in savage ways but they wont kill females in public display? I don’t think they have that boundary and I also think they are doing things very much on the fly and if the U.S. enters this more and more, I could easily see them using that (killing an American woman in a gruesome way) as a bad tactic. My feeling is that ISIS is all about tactics, show and that’s how they send its’ odd messages.
David Ignatius said that even Osama Bin Laden was against some of the ways Al Qaida did some things which is even weirder but maybe this will be a so called ‘tipping point’ that the panel mentions over and over today. Some Muslim leader and / or some Sheik even said that this Jordan guy being burnt up was a Muslim. So maybe it is some kind of a tipping point of its own people are condemning it. I hope it is. Also Mikas formal report of the ISIS group tells us
how it (ISIS) just plowed itself into Northern Iraq killing people by burying them alive, etc. and then in turn taking over that Northern region. In comparison to other groups that commit genocide in any way let alone on its own people, past groups that committed genocides like say the
Nazis were polar opposite of what ISIS does with their victims. The Nazis hid what they were doing in concentration camps. They did not want the world to know about it. Whereas they (ISIS) are
unique in that they are trying to get its message out there by killing people in public ways.

John Heilman and Joe states how they have impacted how foreign policy is handled in Japan, in Jordan and now in the USA. (John) Heilmen thinks in say a general election that it will now be hard for say a Rand Paul to stay on his platform of foreign policy while Jeb Bush has zero foreign policy experience and then Hilary (Clinton) has a lot of national security experience. However, that could be picked apart if they start to mention the Benghazi thing which she had nothing to do with, but they will try to use that as a tool against her. Further, Marco (Rubio). (Scott) Walker and (Ted) Cruz have not been in their seats long enough to have any experience in that regard.

Joe Manchin is on now (the person that in part created the Background check bill that went nowhere after Sandy Hook). They get into how the Jordanian was locked into a cage while then being burnt alive in it. Remember too, this pilot was the first of the ally forces to be captured by ISIS. He (Manchin) wants this fight and says the U.S. should enter this fight. He also thinks there will be quick movement to hand them over weaponry (and I guess oil which they requested they needed too).He (Joe Manchin) states that they will move faster and further as far as handing over weapons to the people that want to fight and it does not sound like anyone believes we will enter that fight with say ‘boots on the ground’. But the Saudis have to engage in it. The Turkish people must engage in it. Jordan will now enter it and they are now speaking with someone (Randa Habib) from Jordan via Skype to get the reaction of the Jordanites today. She states that burning someone alive is very much against that religion and she also feels that ISIS made a huge mistake by allowing someone to die in a fire (which is equivalent in their eye religiously, to be sent to hell and to be sent to hell this way is a farce).

Katie Kay is on now asking what kind of retribution will be taken vs. this group (ISIS) and then she states what I state which is how does it get done. Especially without ‘boots on the ground’ if you will. She also states that many of the smaller middle eastern and Arab countries are backing off in case they get snagged up by that ISIS group. The UA??? stopped its strikes back in December after this pilot was captured.

BTW, this is a fast and furious show today.

Next segment seems to be about the guy that killed Chris Kyle, the guy portrayed in the American Sniper film. My dada told me this trial was about to happen at some point lately and now the judge is weighing maybe (maybe it’s the prosecutor trying to get an extension) whether to hold off on having that trial today because of the success of that Clint Eastwood film. That film has won the box office the last three weeks and is now the top selling war movie surpassing the numbers set by Saving Private Ryan. Lets hear what they (the panel) have to say about it and it looks like that it will NOT be delayed as the judge denied that request. That’s an asinine request and I still cannot believe that was how the dude died. Willie reports that Chris Kyle died or was killed by this guy two years ago this week. The defense is temporary insanity when (Chris) Kyle took the guy to a shooting range to help out with its P.T.S.T. he had because of being involved in those wars.

After that story, they talk about how the Senate Dem’s block the GOP bill with regard to immigration. (Joe) Manchin sites that we need to worry about Homeland Security and he also states they set up a clean bill in the first lace. And, he (Joe Manchin ) says to not add in ancillary things like Homeland Security into an immigration bill.

(Mike) Barnicle is on now and so is Ayman Mohyeldin, Mac Thornberry and Robert Grenier obviously to further the discuss the ISIS situation. Mac(Thornberry ) actually explains that we (Western part of the world) is not the target audience of the ISIS group which Joe refers to as ‘fascinating insight” and I agree. They (ISIS) uses these showing off of these killings as a way to recruit over say the other terrorists (Al Qaeda) in that region. Grenier says that we did meet with the Jordanian leaders who say that our bureaucracy takes so long to deal with anything that  its frustrating. They need everything it seems from weaponry to oil. Ayman is asked if it were a tipping point now vs. ISIS who says that in the public eye, it is, but is it a political tipping point? He says without boots on the ground flushing out the ISIS members it is not.

Bill Browder, the author of the book entitled Red Notice is on next. He is the guy that took on the corruption in Russia and notably with Vladimir Putin's regime. He was exiled evidently from that country for exposing the corruptness. Sounds like a great spy movie to me and his book sounds interesting too. The author claims that its two tiered over in Russia where if you challenge the Russian ways, you end up dead or exiled and the other route is to be corrupt but then you would be acting illegally by American standards. His lawyer was killed and they actually put that dead lawyer on trial while placing this novelist on trial too. The way they did it was by placing him in some cage in a court room and he got 9 years but I guess he is out by now. The book is banned over ion Russia.
For years, Mr. Browder was a winner: His hedge fund, Hermitage Capital, managed $4.5 billion in assets at its height in 2004. The next year he was expelled from Russia, his company was raided and control was handed over to a group of Russian nationals. The story of Hermitage’s takedown is the story of a vicious battle between those who believed they could get rich by living within the rules and helping guide Russia toward freer, law-based markets, and those like the oligarchs (and the Kremlin elite today) who wanted to get even richer by remaking the rules altogether. Mr. Browder, a veteran of firms like Salomon Brothers, had made huge money in Poland investing in newly privatized state-owned companies after the 1989 collapse of communism. In 1996, he formed Hermitage, seeing even greater opportunity in Russia’s decision to privatize its industries. The tireless efforts of Sergei Magnitsky revealed this scam. But instead of going after the perpetrators, Russian authorities arrested Magnitsky in November 2008 and held him in pretrial detention for a year. He refused to recant, and as documents later revealed, he was beaten to death with rubber batons by eight officials in full riot gear. Mr. Putin said Magnitsky had died of a heart attack. The case against Mr. Browder and Magnitsky continued. Both were found guilty of tax fraud in March 2013—the first conviction of a dead person in Europe since 897, Mr. Browder writes, when “the Catholic Church convicted Pope Formosus posthumously, cut off his papal fingers, and threw his body into the Tiber.” Mr. Browder continues the fight from abroad. He has succeeded in getting the Magnitsky Act passed through both the U.S. Congress and the European Parliament, providing visa bans and asset seizures for the Russian officials involved in the lawyer’s death. But he still gets calls from hedge-fund managers: “Hey, Bill, the Russian market is down 63% from its high four years ago. Do you think we should get in?” He dissuades them—not just for moral reasons, but because he knows they could lose everything.

What's next during this fast moving show today? Something about Coach K (Mike Kychesvsky) and the Obama admin? Oh its about Reggie Love, the player that attended and played hoop at Duke. He not only played for Coach K, he also worked with President Obama in his administration. He is his body guard? Is that his gig today? I cant tell but whatever...He (Reggie Love) seems like a nice guy. I get it. The job if will would be harder than say with past admin’s because he is the first black POTUS but how does he know that he (Obama) wants to do things for the people? He is NOT really able to make that assumption and in reality, yes. Obama speaks about it but Obama is all about big business when it comes to what he has actually set up over the last 6 years. Regardless, of what has been set forth rather than what has been talked about in speeches by this admin, he seems like a nice guy. Even for a Duke hoop player.

Uh Oh. John McCain is no soon. He will be calling for another full scaled war of course. He will no doubt say how the Presidents foreign affairs has created this when it was really Bush J. and Cheney's admin that started this manifestation of say ISIS by starting wars for what were suspect reasons. This POTUS just prolonged it and said stupid things like ISIS is a JV team and some other things that I can safely say McCain will mention today. he always talks about it and he gets angry too. I wonder if they will touch into the code pink incident that went down during the (Henry) Kissinger hearing last week. He called them some derogatory term which was a bit over the top but (John) McCain gets angry a lot. We shall see.

I assume the beginning of the 8AM hour will be the repeat of the  6AM start but you never know on some days. This show like I said above today, has been fast and furious. I can’t even catch up on what they spoke about today which is fun but hard to recap for people.

According to Bill Karin's and the weather forecast we face, we could see some snow over the weekend and it looks like CA will get some much need moisture.

A Major new story is being reported by the panel that A
lberto Nissan, the prosecutor whose mysterious death has gripped Argentina, had drafted a request for the arrest of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, accusing her of trying to shield Iranian officials from responsibility in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish center here, the lead investigator into his death said Tuesday. The 26-page document, which was found in the garbage at Mr. Nissan's apartment, also sought the arrest of Hector Timer man, Argentina’s foreign minister. Both Mrs. Kirchner and Mr. Timer man have repeatedly denied Mr. Nissan's accusation that they tried to reach a secret deal with Iran to lift international arrest warrants for Iranian officials wanted in connection with the bombing. He had been scheduled the next day to provide details before Congress about his accusations against Mrs. Kirchner.

And, Rand Paul steps backs his comments about normal people gaining deformities when getting vaccine shots but in typical Rand Paul fashion, he says that he never said it when he was on film/video saying it. Jeremy Peters says that Rand Paul says that he said he “heard” it but that’s still reckless to say an interviews. This is Rand Paul’s problem. He says one thing at 8:08AM and then by 11AM that same morning, he changes what he had said minutes / hours before it. That guy has been caught in so many lies and so many times which will not be what makes him not a great candidate and I am not kidding in that what he did walking back this measles claim is no different than he had done a few times over the last few years. Maybe he is NOT quick on his feet so to speak, during interviews or maybe he gets angry too fast but that transcends to him lying when you say something one minute and then you not only say that you never said it the next minute, you also change your platform or stance about the same very issue that same day. He has been that way for a while an that is my critical pet peeve with the guy. He lies and he gets caught lying minutes later and I am not joking when I say minutes later. I mentioned hours later today but I am exaggerating in that one case. One time in the last three years, he literally said something to the media at 805AM before changing it formally 8 minutes later and I am not joking about it.

Regardless of the weather across the U.S., and Rand Paul lying and getting caught lying many times, John McCain will be on soon. That’s the segment I have been wanting to see today. Lets hear what he has to say about the situation over in the Arab world. Its not going to be pretty but still, he is the head of that committee which I cant think of what it is off the top of my head. I think it has something to do with weaponry or wars or our military. I know he has stock or something in some Military manufacturing companies because he calls for us e to enter into wars every 18 days and coming from someone that was in captivity for 2 and 1/2 years, that astounds me but something is up with him that regard in these modern years. Let’s listen though to what he has to say today. It should be quite colorful.

Jeez. What is happening here? (John) McCain is saying that this could give us an opportunity to work with an Arab coalition but (Mike) Barnacle is trying to bait him by asking if we should enter our troops into the region. (John)( McCain says honestly, what I say we should so which is continued air strikes (I would go so far to say that we need more) and to bring our Special Ops or Black Ops part of the troops and our military. He does say something about Iran (which I missed the Q) is an awful and immoral concept or idea. I assume it has something to do with teaming up with Iran or with Iraq but again, I missed the q asked by barnacle. shit...That was quick and painless.

The non stories of the day seem to be about some baby that has three parents or something? Oh it has something to do with the UK so who cares about it. I don’t understand that one but this news day was so rough that there are really no non stories today. Good for us or not good for us because that usually means tragedy is being reported but you know what I mean. But yeah. Woo. What a show today. Fast and furious and again, no real negatives except about the news stories being reported itself.

So yeah. Stay in touch as they say and enjoy the day!

PS: what happened to Barry Manilow being on the show today? I told my mom he was on it and he was NOT. Oh well.
