India’s tiger population has increased by
nearly 30% in the wild in just four years. While poaching remains the greatest
threat to wild tigers today, the latest count—2,226 individuals—released by the
Government of India proves that this species can recover and thrive. You can help WWF save tigers and many other species and places when you become a monthly donor. Make a huge difference for nature today. |
Do you think elephants,
tigers and rhinos should be protected from extinction?
Are you concerned
about extreme weather events and rising sea levels?
Do you want people
around the world to have clean, fresh water?
WWF's ambitious
2015 initiatives take on all of these critical issues. With you by our side, we
can save endangered species, protect essential habitats and address global
threats.
Your
monthly support will help WWF make a difference for wildlife, communities and
wild places around the world this year and beyond.
Here
are just some of our ambitious initiatives:
With
your help, we are ramping up action at local and global levels to stop wildlife
crime. Our main areas of focus are strengthening policies internationally,
stopping wildlife poaching, and stopping trafficking and demand for illegal
wildlife and wildlife parts.
Clean,
fresh water is an essential ingredient for life, but it faces myriad threats,
including climate change, population growth and changing consumption patterns.
In 2015, WWF will rate the health of freshwater basins. Also, we will work with
a variety of partners to ensure that healthy freshwater systems exist to
conserve wildlife and provide a sustainable future for all.
To
protect nature and people, we are working toward a zero-carbon future and a
climate change-resilient world. Our sights are set on December 2015, when United
Nations climate change conference delegates will meet in Paris to negotiate a
binding global climate agreement. Throughout the year, we will rally supporters
like you, work to influence public opinion and collaborate with government
leaders. Through these connections and efforts, we will advocate for bold US
emissions reduction goals and an ambitious global treaty on climate
change.
