Rescue TV presents great rescue stories this week with 'Sloth', Morgan’s Jungle Lodge, Echo, Baby fox cubs, Orphaned orangutans, Bodo, a Homeless Dog & an UPDATE that 28 donkeys now saved with 22 still on death row!

UPDATE! 28 donkeys now saved, 22 still on death row! The clock is ticking! These 50 donkeys, who live in South Africa, were saved from the Chinese-led donkey genocide that is sweeping Africa. Jonno Sherwin, a kind-hearted South African outbid a Chinese syndicate that wanted to illegally slaughter the donkeys and send their skins to China to be boiled down for use in phony medicine.

Now Jonno is desperately trying to find homes for them because he simply doesn’t have the money to feed and care for them.

Couple Saves Baby Sloth Who Was Found Stuck Between Rocks on Beach! A couple exploring Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula found themselves in just the right place, at just the right time. The pair came across a little two-toed sloth who had managed to survive the high tide and was stuck on the beach, clinging to a rock and crying out in confusion. Fortunately, he was saved before anything could happen to him – and now, he is recovering and growing strong at a local rescue.

Dirk Morgan, who shared the rescue of the young sloth on his Facebook page, noticed that the animal was completely alone, with no adult in sight, and decided right away to step in.

It is a mystery how the baby found himself all alone on the rocky beach. Morgan and his partner Lori carefully picked the sloth up and washed the salt water off his face.
They placed him safely in a cardboard box to be transported to the animal rescue at Tranquility. “He seemed to be fine and happy to be dried off and safe,” Morgan wrote.
Once at the local rescue, the sloth was immediately taken in the staff’s care.
The baby will be released back into the wild when he is older, strong and healthy enough to start living on his own.
Thanks to the help of the kind-hearted couple, who run Morgan’s Jungle Lodge in Costa Rica, the baby sloth has made it safely to a place where he receives great care and has nothing to fear. Hopefully, he will eventually end up having a long and safe life in his natural habitat – high in the trees, where he belongs.

Fantastic Rescue Team Helps Lost Sloth Return to the Wild – in Style! Sloths are some of the most loveable animals around. They are known for their slow moving pace, their precious smiles, and have been the center of many amazing memes. With this in mind, it’s no wonder that countless people proclaim they NEED a baby sloth in their lives and attempt to keep them as pets. On the surface, what could be better than constantly getting to look at a precious sloth face?

Well, unfortunately, as is the case when we try to make any other wild animal a pet, things are rarely as precious as they seem. Sloths have very sharp claws and will attack when they feel threatened. They are not domestic animals, so they do not cuddle or enjoy interacting with humans the same way a dog or cat does.

Not to mention, sloths are becoming more and more endangered in their wild habitat. As the sloth’s territory is being rapidly encroached upon due to deforestation and urban development, these animals are becoming more prone to injury and being captured for the exotic pet trade and consequently, disappearing from their natural habitat. Thankfully, there are many organizations working to rescue and rehabilitate sloths who have fallen prey to humans. Santuário Ecológico Rancho dos Gnomos is one such organization.

A few years ago, the rescue team at this sanctuary came across a lost sloth who had crawled out of the deep, protective woods. After giving him a full examination, they determined he was not injured and could return to the wild.

This is a photo they captured of this slow-moving fellow returning to his rightful home – in style!

While that smile might be irresistible, it is up to all of us to spread the word that sloths – and all other wild animals – should never be pets. These animals exist to play a very specific and important role in their ecosystem, and when we remove them from this for our own entertainment, it will always lead to a negative impact.

Share this article and encourage others to appreciate sloths from afar. No animal should have to suffer for the sake of our entertainment!

'Sloth' by Phish
They call me the sloth

(Way down in the ghetto)
Italian Spaghetti
(Singing falsetto)
Sleeping all day
(Rip Van Winklin')
Spend my nights in bars
(Glasses tinklin')

I'm so bad
(He's so nasty
Ain't got no friends
(Real out-casty)
Stay out of my way
(Or you'll end up a cripple)
I'll take this piece of paper
(And slice your nipple)

They call me the sloth
(Way down in the ghetto)
Italian Spaghetti
(Singing falsetto)
Sleeping all day
(Rip Van Winklin')
Spend my nights in bars
(Glasses tinklin')
