In a Facebook post shared by Animal Defenders International (ADI), Gervais is quoted with saying, in regards to wild animal circus acts, “Please support ADI and help secure a UK-wide ban, ending this madness once and for all.”

This vocal support comes after a bill to end wild animal circus acts in England was blocked by a single vote on March 16th. This bill will be brought forward again on April 27th. To show your support for this important cause, visit here.
Quebec is considering a piece of legislation that would categorize dogs ordinary, potentially dangerous and dangerous. The problem, of course, is that calssifying a dog that way by breed doesn't actually make sense and unfairly targets bully breeds like pit bulls.

Sign on to tell Quebec you oppose this new law and instead want them to focus on universal animal laws that don't target certain breeds.

I am the proud owner of a pit bull baby named Linus and I think it's ridiculous that animals like him are being all grouped together. Honestly, the way a dog is handled, raised and cared for has much more to do with whether or not they pose a risk to society. Bills that indiscriminately ban certain breeds don't have the flexibility and nuance to prosecute irresponsible owners of all dog breeds, and they punish innocent pets and their owners.

People should be safe in their cities and so should dogs. When cities ban bully breeds, all that ends up happening is many pit bulls and similar breeds end up dying. That is not the intended result and so the law should be re evaluated. Not to mention all the current pit bull owners in Quebec who will be forced to decide between a city where their lives are and an animal they consider part of their family.

Montreal recently changed their stance on this issue and is expected to send a brief stating that they don't think bans make any sense. But we need our voices to be heard too. Tell Quebec you're watching and you do not want them to pass a bully breed ban.
Tell Airport to Stop Shipping Live Horses for Slaughter

Target: Tom Ruth, President and CEO of Edmonton International Airport

Goal: Stop supporting the brutal killing of horses by allowing them to be shipped to Japan for slaughter.

The live export of horses is a cruel, multi-million dollar industry in which animals are horribly mistreated and then killed for their meat. Animal advocates are calling for the Edmonton International Airport in Canada to stop being complicit in this violence and brutality. The airport must stop allowing airlines to send shipments of live horses for the sake of selfish profit. Horses bought from the U.S. are exported alongside Canadian horses, from Canadian airports to Japan, where they are exploited and slaughtered for their meat.

The Canadian Horse Defense Coalition has been working to expose the practices of the horse slaughter and live shipment industries, including a lack of compliance with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) standards. Allegations of horrible mistreatment of these innocent animals are supported by photo and video footage. They are kept in overcrowded crates and spend hours in transit by truck, before being exposed to all kinds of weather while they wait to be loaded onto aircrafts for a flight across the globe. They can be denied food and water for up to 36 hours under Canada’s laws, but are often deprived of these needs for much longer, as Canadian laws no longer take effect as soon as the horses are out of the country. Sign to demand that Edmonton International Airport stop allowing these horrors, and end the live export of horses to Japan.

Camels Don't Need Plastic Surgery - Charge Perpetrators Now!
Big brown eyes, long lashes, and luscious lips. That's how you could describe many camels. But for some people that isn't enough.

This year, several camel owners were caught red-handed performing plastic surgery on their dromedaries. It's part of their strategy to win an annual camel beauty contest.

It may sound funny, but the prizes are no laughing matter. The winners could go home with up to $57 million. But the large sum does not justify the cruelty of these camel owners' actions.

Traditional camel beauty standards include delicate ears and long lips. And in order to give their animals the best shot of winning, some owners were injecting them with botox. The gave them shots everywhere from their lips to their nose and even the jaw!

This is absolutely ridiculous, which is why we're demanding that the veterinarian who performed the surgeries and camel owners take responsibility for putting the camels through such unnecessary and potentially harmful procedures.

Help stand up for these poor camels by signing on and demanding animal cruelty charges against those responsible.
Grizzly bear with cub
Wyoming wants to allow trophy hunters to shoot and kill 24 of Yellowstone's beloved grizzly bears.

More than half of them could be females, including those pregnant with unborn cubs.

We're not about to let that happen. Please give to our Predator Defense Fund today as we fight Wyoming's gruesome decision to kill these bears.

Shooting grizzlies that wander out of Yellowstone National Park is despicable. These bears were rightly protected under the Endangered Species Act for 40 years. Last summer, Trump stripped those protections — and now Wyoming's plotting the slaughter of mothers-to-be. It's utterly horrific.

State wildlife officials have sanctioned the killing of up to 14 female grizzlies this year. But the fact is, it'll be nearly impossible for hunters to tell through their rifle scope if they're gunning down a pregnant bear. Newborn grizzly cubs are the size of a tea cup.

The death of one of these pregnant females will be a double-tragedy: The end of the mother's life and the end for her unborn cubs. All with a single bullet, all so a head could be hung on a wall or a rug put on the floor.

The Center is moving fast to save these bears. We're already in court to restore federal protections for Yellowstone's grizzlies. We'll fight tooth and nail to stop the grizzly hunt this fall, and we need you with us to win.

Wyoming knows what it's doing is disgraceful. By barring any hunts within a quarter-mile of a highway, the state wants to keep grizzly killing out of public view. Yellowstone's bears are some of the most popular in the world, and we're not about to let them disappear without a fight.

With you by our side, we'll restore protections for Yellowstone's grizzly bears and save them from being shot for their body parts. Give today to the Predator Defense Fund.

This Guinea Pig Was Found Dead at PetSmart
peta2TV

A new PETA exposé reveals fatal failures to provide sick, injured, and dying animals—some with contagious diseases—with veterinary care at three PetSmart, Inc., stores across the country.

Based on PETA's evidence of systemic neglect and widespread animal suffering at a Nashville, Tennessee, store, the city's Metro Animal Care and Control executed a search warrant at the store this morning and opened a criminal investigation.
As you can see in the video footage, managers at the Nashville store repeatedly refused to provide animals with desperately needed veterinary care in order to "keep costs down" so that they would receive bonuses.

PETA's investigation also included stores in Brandon, Florida, and Peoria, Arizona. At the Brandon store, a manager admitted that "every single one" of PetSmart's animals came from "terrible" mills and that PetSmart is "a horrible place for animals." A supervisor at the Peoria store told the eyewitness that workers didn't take sick and injured animals for free in-store veterinary exams because "they don't want animals [in a back room] to take care of."

Please take a moment today to tell PetSmart that you refuse to buy anything—even supplies—from its stores as long as it sells live animals.

Help Track Down Cruel Person Who Is Killing Eagles in New Mexico! Two protected eagles were found shot with their tail feathers missing at the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry (NAPI) in the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) reports the first was a bald eagle, found on March 13, 2018, who later died as a result of the injuries. The second bird, an adult male golden eagle, was found on March 21, 2018. Rescuers had to amputate one of his wings at the wrist, and although recovering, the eagle will not be able to return to the wild due to the injuries.

Thankfully, the injured golden eagle was rescued in time and is now in the care of Hawks Aloft.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released a request for any information that can lead to tracking down those who are responsible for these atrocious crimes. They state: “Anyone with information regarding the shootings of these eagles is asked to contact the Service’s Office of Law Enforcement in Albuquerque, New Mexico (505- 346-7828), or the Navajo Nation Department of Fish & Wildlife/ Navajo Nation’s Operation Game Thief (928- 221-9114). Callers with information may remain anonymous. The Service is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shootings of these eagles.”

Anyone with information regarding the shootings of these protected eagles is strongly encouraged to contact authorities.
FWS explains that bald eagles and golden eagles are protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Taking, shooting, injuring or killing an eagle violates these acts and guilty parties can face up to one year of jail time and up to $100,000-$250,000 in fines.

Please SHARE this with your network to help spread the word and track down who shot these beautiful eagles and left them to die. To learn more about Hawks Aloft and donate to help them save more birds, click here. All Image Source: Hawks Aloft, Inc.
