A Police Officer Beat a Dog to Death in Public for 3 Horrific Hours – Act NOW to Get Justice

Shocking footage of a police officer in China abusing a dog recently came to surface. According to reports, the officer, Hu Hanlin, chained a Golden Retriever to a road barrier and beat the animal to death in the most horrifying and unacceptable act of cruelty.
The local police bureau stated that Hanlin was simply carrying out his duty of protecting the public. Sign the petition and urge the Tianxin District Police Bureau to fire Hu Hanlin for his disturbing actions and murder of the animal. Read more here.

Shut Down Failing Polar Bear Breeding Program in Zoo That Has Lost 2 Cubs in Less Than a Year!

A petition on Care2 explains how the Tierpark Zoo in Berlin is responsible for the death of two infant polar bear cubs who perished in the zoo within ten months. The first cub, named Fritz, died in March 2017 at the age of four months, and the second, who was not named, died early this January at the age of 26 days old.
It is apparent that something is not right at the Tierpark Zoo and the petition’s author would like to see an end to the facility’s polar bear breeding program and have the remaining polar bears sent to a reputable sanctuary. Read more here.

Don’t Let Animals Go Hungry, Include Pet Food in SNAP Benefits!

To help support struggling families, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps 40 million low or no income people in the U.S. pay for food, according to a Care2 petition. But here’s the problem: SNAP benefits cannot be used to buy pet food, causing many struggling families to have to make difficult decisions, such as surrendering the pet.
Just because someone has fallen on hard times, doesn’t mean they should have to give up their beloved pet. If you agree that the USDA should expand SNAP benefits to include pet food, please sign this important Care2 petition and share it with your friends and family. Read more here.

At least nine cats and dogs died when they were reportedly abandoned without food for weeks. Other animals, including a python, were found starving in the same home. Some apparently ate dead kittens to survive. Demand justice for these innocent animals.

Amazon UK is allowing live lobsters to be sold through its online Marketplace.
Speak out for pigs
These helpless animals are cruelly packaged and delivered by post as if they were nothing more than a parcel of socks. Lobsters are sentient beings, and they can suffer and feel pain – just as dogs, cats, pigs, and humans can.
Most lobsters purchased from Amazon will likely end up being boiled alive. Those who endure this cruel fate typically writhe wildly and scrape at the sides of the pot in a desperate attempt to escape from the scalding-hot water.
Please send a message now to Amazon UK Country Manager Douglas Gurr asking him to ban the sale of lobsters and other live animals:

Elephant Suffers Prolonged Death From Topeka Zoo Negligence. Topeka Zoo in Kansas failed, on many brutal counts, to adequately care for Shannon, a 35-year old African elephant who died on December 11. Shannon spent roughly ten excruciating hours on her side overnight - with no monitoring of her situation from Zoo staff after they left for the evening. This is inexcusable since Shannon, the Zoo's youngest elephant, was found "downed" on her side on the previous day, when the Zoo called firefighters to help hoist her to her feet. We can't let the three remaining elephants suffer the same fate! TAKE ACTION

Wild Burros Under Threat From Trump's Budget Plan. As the new year begins, let us take a moment to remember a species whose members are noble, long-eared animals, so often maligned, who have already had so much taken from them for humans' collective benefit over the centuries and still to this day in many countries. Donkeys and burros have suffered enough, and we can't let the last remaining wild burros face a brutal end by gun massacre on the range. TAKE ACTION

Factory Farms Forced to Report Their Deadly Emissions. For more than eight years, factory farms haven't had to report their toxic emissions to the federal government, but very soon they will. Thanks in part to your support, and the incredible dedication of Earthjustice attorneys, factory farms will be required to participate in mandatory emission reporting as of January 22, 2018. READ MORE
