Bye Week, Rams 33-0 vs Cardinals in Twickenham, Habitat for Humanity, Best Start since 2003, New Stadium Flyovers

The Rams have a bye this week.

They played a near flawless game last week. There was one interception thrown by Jared Goff and that was basically about it as far as mistakes and honestly, Goff knew it. he was pissed. He reacted to it. And that put my mind at ease because he knew what he did wrong. At that time, the game was pretty close but the team just steadily marched forward manhandling the Cardinal team. The Ram had full control of the entire. it was coached well. They managed the clock real well. They did everything rather well.

Which makes it for an easy week for the likes of me.

I will be going to the game next week vs the Giants up at that huge stadium.

FYI, over the last three weeks, the Rams' defense has the second-most interceptions per attempt (4.8%) and the ninth-most sacks per attempt (10.5), while allowing the fourth-lowest Total QBR (26.3), the fourth-fewest first downs (14.7 per game) and the eighth-fewest yards (274.3 per game).

They're averaging an NFL-leading 30.29 points per game, while ranked second in third-down conversions (49 percent) and ninth in yards (369.1 per game). They're also first in average point margin (10.57).

The Rams' odds to win the Super Bowl at the start of the season: 200/1. Now: 18/1. The Rams' odds to win the NFC at the start of the year: 75/1. Now: 9/1.

Anyway, let's how the team is spending the week:

After a grueling road series spanning 11-days and two countries, Los Angeles will take a much-needed break for the next couple of days during the bye week. Check below to find out what some of your favorite Rams players will be doing on their days off
Rams Writer/Reporter, Kristen Lago
“I’m just going to hang out with the family. Hanging out here, experiencing L.A. a little bit. Been such a whirlwind of getting here, getting on the team and getting us in the right direction and those kinds of things, we’re just going to spend some time hanging out, seeing the city and just everything we get the chance to do together. Maybe catch some good games, basketball, baseball or something.”
“I’ll be here, nothing special. Just over here keeping my body healthy and staying in the film room.”
- Defensive tackle, Aaron Donald
“Not going anywhere just hanging out. My wife and I are just going to hang out here in Thousand Oaks and recoup a little bit. Just be ready to go next week. There’s a good balance between it, you want to be able to get away but at the same time you know you’re coming back. You want to be prepared as best you can, take advantage of this bye week to get your body back, but get your mind ready to make a good push here.”
- Wide receiver, Cooper Kupp
“Not going to do much, I’m kind of lame. Just rest and get healthy. We have been fortunate, we didn’t play too many snaps in London but the time change going to Jacksonville, staying there and then flying over and back. I mean, we’re all tired with lack of sleep, so definitely trying to recover from that. And then I don’t know, I might go to the weekend and go somewhere, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica or somewhere like that. We’ll see what happens.”
“No big plans, I’m going back to Texas for a little bit. Just kind of chill, I don’t have any big plans. They play Baylor, so I may head down to Waco. I know we are going to get that W so it’s all good either way.”
- Running back, Malcolm Brown
“I am not sure yet, the wife probably has some stuff planned. You know how that goes, so we’ll see what the itinerary looks like once I leave here. But I’ll pretty much be around here in L.A.”
- Right guard, Jamon Brown
“I’m going home [first]. Then I am going to go back to Boston College for a little bit. I’ll be going to the game Friday night against Florida State, I think we can beat them to so it should be fun.”
- Safety, John Johnson III
“I am going to Eastern Washington just to say what’s up to my friends who I haven’t seen for a long time. That’s basically it. They have a bye week so it’s perfect. I’m still going to be safe though because I’m not doing anything crazy. It’ll be fun to take my mind off of it for a little bit, especially the playbook.”
- Outside linebacker, Samson Ebukam
“Relax and do nothing. I am hanging out here, been on too many plane rides in the past 10 days. During a bye week, I’ll take a little bit of break from football. During the week kind of on off days you still don’t get away from it, but this week get the mind relaxed a little bit and get ready to finish out the season strong.”
- Tight end, Tyler Higbee
“I’m not sure yet. I think really after today we’re kind of going to get things wrapped up. I think the nice thing about living in this area is that you don’t have to go too far to feel like you can still get away and enjoy the beach or whatever that might be. But, I think it will be important for me to be able to get away for a couple days and just like we talk about with the players, get refreshed and get recharged. We’ll do a little work here and there because you do enjoy doing some things, but I will try to catch up on some rest and get away, whether you go to Santa Barbara or somewhere like that – I’ll figure that out a little bit later this afternoon and those are good things when you live in such a nice area.”
- Head coach, Sean McVay
“Spend some time with my son and then I think we’re going to go watch Zac Brown Band at the Hollywood Bowl so that will be fun.”
- Safety, Cody Davis
“For me it’s perfect timing I most definitely need these two weeks, so I most definitely plan to take advantage of the bye. I’m going back to see my daughter, going home to see my baby.”
- Linebacker, Mark Barron
Rams Team with Habitat for Humanity in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties

For the Rams’ October Staff Day of Service, members of the organization teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and Ventura County to build and paint benches and provide assistance in early stages of housing construction.

At Court Park in Playa Vista, Rams staff worked alongside Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to build and decorate worksite benches from scratch to be used at the Habitat worksites throughout the region. Volunteers worked in stations such as sawing, sanding, drilling, assembling, and painting, while a few staffers added the final Rams-themed touches on the blue, white and throwback yellow benches.

“Habitat for Humanity is really excited to partner with the LA Rams,” said Erin Rank, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. “These benches are going to be really helpful on our worksites because we need places for our volunteers to sit and to have lunch. But not only that, these benches help us as we’re building. They’ll be really helpful in the construction process and also when we have more than 25 volunteers at a time on our site, we need to rent benches and tables. So this is going to be a big cost savings for us.”

In Oxnard, team representatives worked closely with Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County to help with the initial stages of construction for houses that six low-income families will eventually call home. Onsite to support and assist the Rams staff efforts were wives and significant others of Rams players and coaches.

“The Home Build in Oxnard was another opportunity for our organization to reach out to our extended LA community and come together, serve, and give back in a tangible way,” said Rams Community Outreach Representative David Weingarten. “We will one day look back on this lot once the homes are completed and know we played foundational roles in what will eventually become home for six families.”

The project was part of the Rams’ monthly Day of Service initiative. Each month, the Rams front office staff takes time out of the office to volunteer with local non-profits. During the team’s first year back home in Los Angeles, Rams employees provided more than 2,000 hours of community service and impacted 10 local non-profits and 19 schools through the Day of Service.  Since January of 2017, the team has volunteered with eight local non-profits and 25 schools through the Day of Service program.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County partner with people in their surrounding communities, and all over the world, to help build or improve a place they call home. Habitat is currently working in nearly 1,400 communities across the United States and in approximately 70 countries. Since its inception, the program has helped nearly 9.8 million people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.
