Rams' 35-30 win over the Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.

The NFC Offensive Player of the Month and the now NFL Player of the Week, Todd Gurley tore it up big time vs. the Cowboys. (Jared) Goff did well too. Gurley though was just as great out of the back field than he was on the ground. He also had his biggest runs and catches with runs after it in two years. He totally took control of the game in the second half. He had a career topping 215 yards from the line. He had  that 53 yard catch with an amazing run after it for a  touchdown. That was sick and evidently he has now scored with receptions for the third straight game this year.

That is all Sean McVay

And, it is all about having Jared Goff in the game.

I said it so many times last year during my frustrated rants that when you have an effective passing game, it opens up the avenues for a great running game. And, Visa versa. Andm, that offense 101. I don't even want to talk about last year. That was a wasted year and a wasted season.

Therefore, this new scheme and coaching staff has not only rejuvenated the ground game out of the back field.

The other thing that got turned around at the half was the entire defense. Although I was a bit nervous at the end ofthe game but again, the D came up big when all is said and done. The problem is league wide because it is hard to be a Defensive Back and moreover, it is very hard being a cornerback in this league today. I guess that would be on Wade Phillips. Though again, there is need for improvement with regard to the D backs. Dallas' first four second-half possessions resulted in three punts. Mark Barron added to that an interception before Dak Prescott found a wide open James Hanna for a fourth-quarter touchdown.

The Rams dominated time of possession and the offense did well on third down plays. They pretty much kept the ball on offense for much of the second half.

Anyway, we have the best special teams players by far. Between Johnny Hekker and Greg Zuerlein, not to mention Pharoah Cooper's big run back in the game, they accounted for most of the big plays in the game. Greg Zuerlein scored on seven field goals (7 of 7) for 23 of the 35 points.

It was the biggest win in years however, the game next week vs. the Seahawks will need to be an even bigger win for the team to be able to play with the big boys.
Greg Zuerlein made a career-high seven of seven field goals in the Rams' 35-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The sure-footed kicker has made 17 of his attempts this season after putting it through the uprights at distances of  43, 28, 30, 44, 44, 49 and 33 yards.
The NFL record was set in 2007 by Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas who made eight.

Community Quarterbacks Andy Salcido and Berny Gonzalez Honored. On Tuesday, September 26, Rams Guard ROGER SAFFOLD paid a visit to St. Lawrence of Brindisi School in Watts to surprise students and LAPD officers with the announcement of the Rams October Community Quarterback winners, LAPD Officers Berny Gonzalez and Andy Salcido. Gonzalez and Salcido are both volunteers for Operation Progress, a non-profit organization that pairs scholars with LAPD officers in a mission to empower underserved youth to become educated, capable, ethical and productive people who will, in turn lead, mentor and positively contribute to society at large. The Rams Community Quarterback Award, presented by Helpful SoCal Honda Dealers, celebrates individuals who display extraordinary leadership abilities and a passion for bettering his or her community and awards funding to the non-profits that they serve.

Officer Berny Gonzalez joined Operation Progress as a LAPD mentor in 2015 and immediately became one of the most involved advisors working with students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. With her effortless ability to form meaningful relationships, Gonzalez has been able to provide strong academic and behavioral support for her mentees. At times, she has gone out of her way to visit students at school, plan exciting field trips exposing them to new things, chaperon events and consistently attend program meetings. Gonzalez also was named Operation Progress’ Mentor of the Year in 2015, setting an example for how positive police/community relationships are cultivated.

“Gonzalez has a way of getting through to students who need the extra push,” said Operations Manager Sasha Lear. “Her combination of tough love mixed with genuine empathy and compassion has made her a great asset to our organization.”

In 2013, Officer Andy Salcido became involved with Operation Progress and has since been a catalyst in providing academic assistance, structure, as well as outside extracurricular activities for his students. Salcido initiated the Operation Progress Running Club which has become an effective way to encourage Operation Progress students and other community youth to be healthy and active. The club has participated in a variety of 5ks and 10ks. For past events, Salcido has even secured running shoe donations for each of the student participants.

“Salcido not only supports each of his mentees academically and behaviorally, but also empowers and encourages them to reach their maximum potential,” mentioned Lear. “He is an exemplary mentor and an asset to Operation Progress’ LAPD mentorship program as well as the South LA community.”

Operation Progress currently serves approximately 70 students in the South LA area and has 35 dedicated LAPD mentors who participate in extracurricular activities along with weekly academic/behavior check-ins.

Officers Andy Salcido and Berny Gonzalez will be recognized at the Rams home game on Sunday, October 8, when the Rams host the Seattle Seahawks. In addition, Operation Progress will receive a $5,000 check from the Rams Foundation and a $5,000 RAMdom Act of Helpfulness from SoCal Honda Dealers.
