#6 Terps Take Over Baltimore Saturday

Storylines
• Melo Trimble was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Monday. Trimble scored a season-high 25 points to lift the Terps past UConn in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 8. The Upper Marlboro, Md., native notched a 14-for-15 performance from the charity stripe. Trimble also scored a team-high 18 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including a 4-of-4 output from beyond the three-point line, and dished out four assists against just one turnover in 28 minutes of action versus Maryland-Eastern Shore last Saturday.

• Freshman Diamond Stone has scored in double-figures in five of his last six games and is averaging 14.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest over the last three outings. The Milwaukee, Wisc., native is shooting .531 from the floor since coming off the bench against Saint Francis (12/4).

Rasheed Sulaimon dished a career-high 10 assists in Maryland’s win over UMES last Saturday. It is the second time this season a Terrapin has boasted double-figure assists (Melo Trimble, 12 vs. UNC on 12/1). Prior to this season, Maryland had not had a player record 10 or more assists since the 2012-13 season.

• This is Maryland’s 12th trip to Baltimore in program history. The Terps are 9-2 all-time in the Charm City, including a streak of five consecutive wins. Maryland defeated Iowa, 84-65, on Nov. 30, 1999 in the Terps’ last outing in Baltimore. Maryland defeated Princeton, 81-58, on Dec. 19, 1998 in Baltimore.

• Maryland is the only team in the Big Ten to have five players averaging 10 or more points per game. Melo Trimble (15.8), Robert Carter (12.5), Diamond Stone (10.7), Rasheed Sulaimon (10.5), and Jake Layman (10.5) are all averaging double-figure scoring this season.

Scouting Princeton
• Princeton (6-2) defeated Liberty, 77-72, on Thursday night its last time out.

Henry Caruso recorded 29 points against Liberty and is averaging a team-high 18.5 points per game while shooting .580 from the floor. He also boasts a squad-best eight boards per game. The Tigers - who returned all five starters from a year ago - are averaging 77 points per game while holding opponents to 66.2.

• Maryland is 5-3 all-time against the Tigers, including four-straight wins. The Terps defeated Princeton 61-53 on Dec. 2, 2001 at the BB&T Classic in Washington, D.C., in the last meeting between the two teams.
