OK Folks. Another late night for me with Phish finishing up their second night in Bend,Oregon. Great show I thought. Trey was way on it and they did some songs i was very surprised to hear. Espcieally the 'Songs I Heard The Ocean Sing' and Waves to open up trhe second set. I had to lookt o see where Bend was in that state. I am used to them playing those songs when they are at venues near the bach and near the ocean. And, no (Harry) 'Hood' considering they were near Mount Hood I think. Tonight is a day/night off thank god but there is speculation that someone could feasibly show at Phil's (Lesh) Terrapin Roads bar. Tomorrow is Shoreline and the saturday night is The Forum in LA. Then, Texas and then I get to join the roadshow in Atlanta next week. I know everyone will miss me while I am gone but i have a bunch of shows next month and I cannot wait for it. Anyway, lets get this show on the road today but i am bit hung the hell over from being up late last night and of course I had some cocktails through out the night. i did get a lot of work done though but still, I am way slow again today.
It is Morning Joe time now though and let me guess what is at the top of the list headline wise. Donald Trump which honestly, I am getting over no matter how funny the guy is when speaks out loud.
How to Destroy Your Cell Phone With Sen. Lindsey Graham:
Like Willie just said about Lindsey, nice gold swing.
What about Kobe (Bryant)? I missed this story on way Too early today.
Rick Perry: Donald Trump will destroy the Republican Party.
“He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued,” Perry charged during an address at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington. “Let no one be mistaken: Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.”
Trump drew the ire of the bulk of the Republican field Saturday, when, during a social conservatives confab in Iowa, he questioned the heroism of Sen. John McCain, who was a prisoner of war in Vietnam. But Perry was lobbing harsh and persistent criticisms before that, bashing Trump last week over controversial comments the provocateur has made about immigrants who came to the United States illegally, a theme Perry returned to Wednesday.
“Donald Trump, the reality television star, is a great generator of ratings. But Donald Trump the candidate is a sower of division, wrongly demonizing Mexican-Americans for political sport,” Perry said. “He has piqued the interest of some Republican voters who have legitimate concerns about a porous border and broken immigration system. But instead of offering those voters leadership or solutions, he has offered fear and sound bites. This cannot stand.”
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is surrounded by media as he arrives to a fund raising event at a golf course in the Bronx borough of New York, Monday,
In 2011, during his disastrous first presidential run, Perry tussled with his Republican rivals over his defense of the Texas DREAM Act, which allows in-state tuition for the children of undocumented immigrants, charging that those who disagreed “don’t have a heart.” The remark drew fury from conservatives, but with the GOP routed among Hispanic voters in 2012, Perry’s supporters again believe his more compassionate tone will resonate, though he remains a long shot.
In the meantime, some in the GOP field, including Scott Walker and Ted Cruz, have avoided criticizing Trump over his immigration remarks, though they took issue with his comments about McCain. (Cruz, however, has refrained from criticizing Trump directly.)
But Perry, who is on the bubble for qualifying for the first Republican debate next month, has found that fiery attacks on Trump are the easiest route to national media attention, and he dominated political Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.
He earned loud applause from the audience when he expressed outrage over Trump’s comments concerning McCain.
“He couldn’t have endured for five minutes what John McCain endured for five-and-a-half years,” jabbed Perry, noting his own military experience.
And he got in a dig at Trump over remarks made in Iowa that some considered unseemly for an event aimed at social conservatives.
“Most telling to me,” Perry said of Trump, is “his admission that there is not a single time in his life that he sought the forgiveness of God.”
In language that bordered on apocalyptic, Perry urged Republicans to “beware of false prophets” and warned that the Republican Party could go the way of the now-defunct Whig Party if Trump isn’t reined in, likening his views to those of the nativist Know-Nothing Party from the mid-1800s.
“I will not go quiet when this cancer on conservatism threatens to metastasize into a movement of mean-spirited politics that will send the Republican Party to the same place it sent the Whig Party in 1854: the graveyard,” he said.
In an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, Trump — who created one of the most memorable moments of the 2016 campaign so far by sharing rival Lindsey Graham's cell phone number on national television — suggested that he would shift his rhetoric as president.
"As president, you would change your tone?" Cooper asked.
"Oh, I'd think so," Trump said. "I'll change my tone."
Trump defended his recent attacks on his fellow candidates, saying he has been hitting back because he was first provoked.
c"I didn't start it with Lindsey Graham. I couldn't care less about Lindsey Graham. He's registered at I think zero in the polls," Trump said. "Lindsey Graham called me a jackass. So am I supposed to say, 'Oh, it's OK'? I'm called a jackass. You have to fight back."'
The former host of "The Apprentice" was referring to comments Graham made in an interview with CNN's Kate Bolduan earlier this week. The South Carolina Republican has harshly criticized Trump for making disparaging comments about Sen. John McCain's service in the Vietnam War.
Trump remarked last weekend that McCain, a decorated veteran who spent more than five years in captivity and denied early release, was a "war hero because he was captured."
"I like people that weren't captured, OK?" Trump said, drawing swift and widespread criticism.
Being called a "jackass" seems to have clearly struck a nerve with Trump. At a campaign event in South Carolina Tuesday, he called Graham an "idiot," then deployed an unorthodox method of political payback: he read out loud Graham's cell phone number.
"Let's try it," Trump said, twice reciting a 202 area code phone number and goading the audience to "give it a shot."
On Wednesday, Trump told Cooper that he had been "unfairly" targeted by Graham — whom Trump said just years ago had solicited him for money and advice.
"I was called names by somebody," Trump said. "Somebody that's hitting me saying what a bad guy I am, who was up in my office asking for money, and asking if I can get him on television."
Trump, who has recently taken the lead among GOP candidates in national polls, also said he wasn't worried about his high unfavorability ratings.
"I mean, I turned a lot of them around, and as you know in North Carolina, it was negative and now it's like, tremendously positive," he said. "When people hear what I said about the vets, and how strong my commitment is to the vets that have been they've been treated so badly and to the border, which is just horrible, I mean every time people listen to me, all of a sudden it becomes very favorable."
'Repenting is terrific'
At the same event where Trump ignited a political firestorm by questioning McCain's service in Vietnam, he said something else that raised eyebrows.
Discussing his faith, Trump said he had never asked forgiveness from God.
"When I drink my little wine -- which is about the only wine I drink -- and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness," he said.
In Wednesday's interview, Trump said it wasn't so much that he's opposed to the idea of repentance -- "I think repenting is terrific," he quipped -- but that he doesn't make a lot of mistakes that require asking for forgiveness.
"I try and lead a life where I don't have to ask God for forgiveness," he said. "Why do I have to ask for forgiveness if you're not making mistakes? I work hard, I'm an honorable person."
On describing taking communion as eating a "little cracker," he said the comments were all good-natured and that the audience took no offense.
"We were having fun when I said, I drink the wine, I eat the cracker -- but we're talking about communion and you know what, the whole room was laughing," he said.
Political reporters are 'really dishonest'
If Trump could have it his way, the 2016 campaign would be covered by the financial press rather than political reporters.
The real estate mogul bristled when Cooper mentioned a newly released Quinnipiac University poll that showed Trump with a high unfavorability rating in the early states.
"You only want to talk about negative. Why don't you bring up the positive polls, Anderson?" Trump said. "I'm leading across the board. And then you hit me with this poll that I didn't even see before.
He said he's largely received fair coverage from the financial press because his business ventures have been so successful. "Numbers are numbers, and my numbers happen to be great," he said.
Poliitcal reporters, however, are a different breed, he said. "I find that 60, 70% of the political media is really, really dishonest."
Sandra Bland controversy
Trump weighed in on the controversial arrest of an African-American woman in Texas that has garnered national backlash.
A dashcam video shows a Texas state trooper pulling over a woman named Sandra Bland earlier this month for allegedly failing to use her turn signal. The exchange between the officer and Bland quickly gets heated when Bland declines to put out her cigarette, and is asked to get out of her vehicle.
The officer then pulls out what appears to be a Taser, screaming, "Get out of the car! I will light you up!"
Trump said he believed the officer seemed "overly aggressive."
"He just looked very aggressive. I didn't like his demeanor, I thought it was terrible, to be honest with you," he said. "I am a huge fan of the police. I think the police have to be given back power. But this guy was overly aggressive, terribly aggressive."
Trump went on to add that he has a "great relationship" with African-Americans: "I just have great respect for them and they like me, I like them."
Clinton In Trouble In Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll Finds; Trump's Negatives Are Almost 2-1
PDF format Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is behind or on the wrong side of a too-close-to-call result in matchups with three leading Republican contenders, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released today.
Perhaps the biggest loser, however, is Donald Trump, who has negative favorability ratings of almost 2-1 in each state, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds. The Swing State Poll focuses on key states in the presidential election.
In several matchups in Iowa and Colorado, another Democratic contender, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, runs as well as, or better than Clinton against Rubio, Bush and Walker. Vice President Joseph Biden does not do as well.
Clinton gets markedly negative favorability ratings in each state, 35 - 56 percent in Colorado, 33 - 56 percent in Iowa and 41 - 50 percent in Virginia.
The worst favorability ratings for any Democrat or Republican in the presidential field belong to Trump: 31 - 58 percent in Colorado, 32 - 57 percent in Iowa and 32 - 61 percent in Virginia.
"Hillary Clinton's numbers have dropped among voters in the key swing states of Colorado, Iowa and Virginia. She has lost ground in the horserace and on key questions about her honesty and leadership," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "On being a strong leader, a key metric in presidential campaigns, she has dropped four to 10 points depending on the state and she is barely above 50 percent in each of the three states."
"Against three Republicans, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Secretary Clinton trails in six matchups and is on the down side of too-close-to call in three," Brown added.
"That's compared to the April 9 Quinnipiac University poll in which she was clearly ahead in five of the matchups and too-close-to-call in the other four. One other key takeaway is that Vice President Joseph Biden, who is considering a 2016 run, does better than Clinton on honesty and on caring about voter needs, always a key Democratic strong point."
"Donald Trump stands out for the wrong reason among the 17 candidates for the Republican presidential nomination: His large negative favorability rating means his growth potential is not as attractive as his competitors."
Matchups in each state show:
Colorado Iowa Virginia
* Clinton 38 36 41
* Rubio 46 44 43
* Clinton 36 36 39
* Bush 41 42 42
* Clinton 38 37 40

* Sanders 37 38 36
* Bush 43 42 46
* Sanders 36 36 36
* Walker 44 44 44
| ||||||||||||
Colorado voters say 62 - 34 percent that Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy; 52 - 46 percent that she has strong leadership qualities and 57 - 39 percent that she does not care about their needs and problems.
Bush gets a negative 35 - 50 percent favorability in Colorado, where voters say 48 - 40 percent that he is honest and trustworthy, 58 - 31 percent that he has strong leadership qualities and 48 - 40 percent that he does not care about their needs and problems.
Colorado voters give Rubio a positive 39 - 28 percent favorability rating and say 43 - 30 percent that he is honest and trustworthy, 47 - 29 percent that he has strong leadership qualities and 43 - 35 percent that he cares about their needs and problems.
Walker gets a 35 - 25 percent favorability rating in Colorado. Voters say 40 - 30 percent that he is honest; 46 - 23 percent that he has strong leadership and 38 - 33 percent that he cares about their needs.
"Hillary Clinton's numbers on honesty and trust may border on abysmal but Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, the GOP front runner, is still battling a name recognition handicap," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "Do Colorado voters trust Hillary? No, they do not. Do they think she cares about their needs? No they do not.
"So the door is open to a GOP candidate voters can believe in."
Iowa | ||||||||||||
Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, Iowa voters say 59 - 33 percent. She is a strong leader, voters say 52 - 43 percent, but she does not care about their needs and problems, voters say 55 - 39 percent.
Bush gets a negative 37 - 45 percent favorability in Iowa. Voters say 44 - 35 percent that he is honest and trustworthy and 54 - 32 percent that he has strong leadership, but voters say 47 - 38 percent that he does not care about their needs and problems.
Iowa voters give Rubio a positive 36 - 27 percent favorability rating and say 45 - 23 percent that he is honest and trustworthy; 47 - 23 percent that he has strong leadership qualities and 43 - 30 percent that he cares about their needs and problems.
Walker gets a 38 - 23 percent favorability rating from Iowa voters. Voters say 41 - 30 percent that he is honest; 50 - 24 percent that he has strong leadership and 42 - 32 percent that he cares about their needs.
"Because Iowa is the scene of the first caucus, Iowa voters are exposed to the presidential campaign more and much earlier than those in any other state with the possible exception of New Hampshire," Brown said. "The result is that they see campaign television ads many months before most of the rest of the country. The large drop in Secretary Clinton's favorability in Iowa, from a split 45 - 47 percent in Quinnipiac University's April 9 survey to a big negative 33 - 56 percent today, has to be worrisome for her."
Virginia | ||||||||||||
Hillary Clinton is not honest and trustworthy, Virginia voters say 55 - 39 percent. She is a strong leader, voters say 54 - 42 percent, but she does not care about their needs and problems, voters say 50 - 45 percent.
Bush gets a positive 43 - 39 percent favorability in Virginia. Voters say 51 - 33 percent that he is honest and trustworthy and 63 - 28 percent that he has strong leadership qualities, but split 44 - 41 percent on whether he cares about their needs and problems.
Virginia voters give Rubio a 36 - 27 percent favorability rating and say 45 - 27 percent that he is honest and trustworthy; 43 - 28 percent that he has strong leadership and 41 - 36 percent that he cares about their needs and problems.
Walker gets a 36 - 26 percent favorability rating in Virginia. Voters say 39 - 26 percent that he is honest; 46 - 24 percent that he has strong leadership qualities, but split 37 - 33 percent on whether he cares about their needs.
"Virginia's two presidential candidates, former Republican Gov. Jim Gilmore and former Democratic U.S. Sen. James Webb, are unknown even to large numbers of Virginians, as 62 percent of voters don't know enough about Gilmore to form an opinion. Webb's favorability is a lackluster 30 - 23 percent," Brown said.

Uber Strikes Deal With New York to Avoid Car Cap |
|
NY Mayor de Blasio and Uber reach deal. After a weeks-long battle between ride-hailing companies and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, an agreement between Uber and the city has been reached to not cap for-hire vehicle company growth in New York while a study on FHV impact in the municipality is conducted.
This comes after San Francisco-based Uber aired TV ads that feature drivers sharing how the cap would impact their livelihood. The company also added a "de Blasio feature" to the Uber app, which displayed that fewer available cars and longer wait times would be likely under the proposed growth limits.

"We're pleased to have reached an agreement with Mayor de Blasio's administration and the City Council to collaborate on a joint transportation study and to work together on ways to continue expanding economic opportunity, mobility and transportation access in the city," Uber's general manager for New York City, Josh Mohrer, said in a statement.
The proposal that has been tabled would have temporarily capped the growth of Uber and other for-hire vehicles in New York City through April 2016. Instead, a bill is expected to be voted on Thursday that would authorize a study on how FHVs have impacted traffic, air quality, noise and public health. As part of the agreement, Uber will provide data for the study.
New York City is a major market for app-based ride-hailing companies. But the city is under pressure from the Taxi and LimousineCommission, or TLC, as taxi medallions have lost some 20 percent of their value since 2011.
As context, there are roughly 13,500 yellow taxis on the road in the city—a capped number—and 63,000 for-hire vehicles, according to the TLC. In other words, there are roughly four or more for-hire cars for every cab in NYC.

"We look forward to a real partnership with the for-hire vehicle industry along with genuine data-sharing that will give us a better picture of their impact on our streets," New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito said in a statement.
Lyft cheered the agreement, as the company was also lobbying against an FHV cap in New York.
"This is good news for consumers and drivers, and we thank the City Council for listening to our concerns about removing carpooling options, which we see as part of the solution to traffic congestion. We will continue working together with the City Council and the TLC to build a more sustainable future for New York," David Mack, Lyft's director of public affairs, said in a statement.
WATCH: New Lakers answer Kobe Bryant question with awkward silence.
After missing out on free agent LaMarcus Aldridge, the Los Angeles Lakers filled out their roster by acquiring the too tall for Six Flags center, Roy Hibbert and signing last season's Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams along with veteran big man Brandon Bass. Not earth shattering transactions but Hibbert is a former All-Star that is looking to rebound from a disappointing 2014-2015 season and Williams can quickly score in bunches.
With these veteran additions and the young core of Julius Randle, D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson, the Lakers should be much improved next season. However, Kobe Bryant doesn't seem to fired up about his new teammates.
At their introductory press conference, the three new Lakers were asked if Bryant reached out to them. Instead of saying no, Williams, Hibbert and Bass just remained silent which lead to 10 seconds of awkwardness.
Bryant may just be busy this summer watching FC Barcelona so he hasn't rolled out the purple and gold carpet to welcome the new Lakers just yet. But wouldn't you expect him to at least send a Black Mamba-type text to Hibbert, Williams and Bass?
However, their silence and facial expressions are telling of how excited they are to play with Bryant. The lackluster feeling between Bryant and the new Lakers is apparently mutual.
Tom Cotton: John Kerry ‘Acted Like Pontius Pilate’ on Iran Deal. Republican Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton denounced Secretary of State John Kerry‘s handling of the Iran deal, comparing it to Pontius Pilate’s capitulation to the crucifixion of Jesus.
“Iran’s had almost four years to reveal the past military work that they’ve done their nuclear program,” Cotton said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “Again, their Parchin military site is where they’ve tested detonators for nuclear weapons. Now this may have been a firm line that Iran would draw, and the United State negotiating team simply was refusing to draw their own line or walk away from the deal.”
“So John Kerry acted like Pontius Pilate,” he continued. “He washed his hands, kicked it to the IAEA, knowing that Congress would not get this information unless someone went out to find it.”
