Zero Tolerance — We Need Strong Animal Cruelty Laws & Enforcement Now! One of the bonds shared by every person who cares about animals is a bone-deep outrage over anyone who would bring harm to an innocent animal. It sickens each one of us to our cores when crimes against animals go unpunished! DONATE TODAY

PETA Has Been Busy Since Ringling's Last Show. PETA won't rest until every circus is animal-free. One year ago this week, Ringling ended its animal acts. Saint Louis University recently barred Garden Bros. Circus from performing after hearing from PETA. People simply no longer want to see sad animals being forced to perform unnatural tricks. Yet UniverSoul, Carson & Barnes, and Garden Bros. circuses still refuse to get with the times and go animal-free. Click here to read more!

200 Animals Reportedly Died in an Aquarium Over the Course of Three Months. Many allegedly died from starvation, infections, and other seemingly preventable causes at the now-closed aquarium owned by Vince Covino. Covino currently owns SeaQuest Aquariums, and a mall in California is allowing him to open an "interactive" aquarium there, where animals will be forced into stressful encounters with humans. Urge the mall's property managers not to allow aquariums at its properties moving forward. Send an email now.

Bali Is Hell on Earth for Animals - Ask TripAdvisor to Add an Animal Cruelty Warning. Bali, the small Indonesian island in the middle of the Indian Ocean is, by most accounts, a perfect holiday destination. The coast is dotted with beautiful beaches, the food is incredible and the people are friendly.

That is, unless, you happen to be an animal in captivity.

A recent report by a prominent animal rights organization has pointed the finger squarely at the islands of Bali, Lombok and Gili Trawangan as being the worst places in the world for animals in captivity and the tourist industry that feeds it.

According to the undercover exposé, 100% of the 26 venues investigated last year which owned captive elephants, tigers, dolphins or civet cats did not meet the basic needs of wild animals in captivity. Additionally, most of these animals were treated with abject cruelty and many forced to work around the clock doling out tourist favorites such as dolphin swims, elephant rides or orangutan selfies.

But captive animals are not the only ones suffering on the island. Last year several news agencies reported of a dog slaughter scandal that rocked the island as well. Dogs were being killed by the hundreds and being sold to unsuspecting tourists as chicken.

TripAdvisor, many tourists' go-to website for travel planning, tells its users that "Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy." It's reviews like these that help Bali bring in millions of tourism dollars but it is also only part of the story.

Would tourists flock to Bali if they knew the scale of violence and cruelty that the animals of the island had to endure? We think not, and we think travel companies like TripAdvisor have a duty to warn their users about the island's abhorrent animal abuse before they buy their ticket. Do you agree?

Photo bobcat caught in trap
The white-hot pain begins the moment that a steel trap crushes her leg. She's in agony, struggling to escape—but the trap's jaws have cut deep, down to the bone.

In her desperation, she even tries to chew off her own leg—her only chance of getting away before the trapper returns.

PETA is raising $250,000 to power our work to end the fur and skins trade and ensure that no bobcat, no coyote, no fox, no beaver—no animal—has to experience this extreme cruelty. Will you help?

Bobcats, foxes, and coyotes are among the many animals who are killed by trappers so that their skin and fur can be used by cruel companies like Canada Goose, which sells coats trimmed with the fur of dead coyotes and stuffed with the feathers of abused birds.

We're ramping up the pressure on Canada Goose to stop using cruelly obtained materials in its clothing. Wherever it operates—from New York to Tokyo to London—PETA and our international affiliates rally animal advocates to help us show the public that the company sews misery into its coats. And thanks to the support of kind people like you, PETA owns enough shares in Canada Goose to give us the right to attend annual meetings and submit shareholder resolutions asking it to stop using animal-derived materials in its products.

There are signs that this pressure is working: The company itself has publicly acknowledged that activism like ours poses a real threat to its bottom line, and every day, we're inspiring more kind consumers to shun the brand's clothing.

Help us keep the momentum going—on this and all our campaigns to protect animals abused for their fur, skin, and feathers.
