Lacey Received Critical Treatment

Many of you may recall the shocking story of Lacey, a six-month-old puppy who was punched, beaten with a shovel and buried in the snow in early 2015. Lacey was rescued by the NYPD and brought to the ASPCA, where she received critical medical treatment for extensive injuries, including fractures to her skull, ribs, legs and back.

After helping Lacey heal, we placed her into a loving home where she was renamed Peanut Butter, but the brutality of what this sweet dog endured stuck in many of our minds. That's why today we are thrilled to announce that justice has been served: Peanut Butter's abuser has been sentenced to one year in jail for his heinous crimes.

Peanut Butter's story is just one example of the life-changing difference your support can make. Your generous donations don't just help rescue animals from cruelty—they allow us to continue to be there for them until each case is closed. From crime scene investigations to legal advocacy, your contributions enable us all to be a voice for the voiceless.

For every animal like Peanut Butter, there are still countless others that need your help. We urge you to continue to seek justice for innocent victims of cruelty by making a gift to the ASPCA today.
Override Christie Puppy Mill Ban Veto. Legislation S3041 would have banned 8160 Puppy Breeders across the country from doing business in NJ because they have received multiple citations for unhealthy breeding conditions.
Not a lot to ask that pet stores stay away from these bad actors. But Governor Christie vetoed it.
