Animal Cruelty Report including an update on Tony The Tiger!

In March, we filed an amended petition to intervene in an ongoing lawsuit against the state of Louisiana with the ultimate goal of having Tony, a Siberian‑Bengal tiger held in captivity at a truck stop, relocated to a reputable sanctuary.

Last week, Tony's already urgent case received another blow. We received reports that Tony's health may be declining. We arranged to have video and photos taken of Tony, so that they could be reviewed by a veterinarian who specializes in big cats. After reviewing the footage, the veterinarian expressed concern about Tony's apparent limp and his curved spine. Eye‑witnesses have also observed Tony acting lethargically.

We immediately sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture urging Tony be examined by a big cat veterinary specialist and provided any care he may require. Please help out!

Time is of the essence. We have been tirelessly fighting for Tony for nearly six years, and we need your strength and support to help us continue this fight. No matter how long it takes or how many roadblocks are put in our way, we won't give up on Tony.
Moe's has failed to publicly commit to a meaningful chicken welfare policy. Without a comprehensive policy, Moe's leaves room for its suppliers to abuse chickens in ways other chains have banned for being too cruel. Chickens may be raised in near total darkness, many bred to grow so large and fast they collapse under their own weight. Many may suffer from constant leg pain so severe they can’t stand and spend almost all their time sitting in their own waste. At slaughter, they may be shackled upside down and shocked with electricity before their throats are cut open—all while fully conscious. Many may even be scalded alive. Click here to help!

Performing animals acts in zoos are the new 21st century circus~

As you all know, Rebecca and her team will be visiting other zoos as well in Indonesia and I am helping her with her GoFund to help the poor animals held captive in Indonesia deplorable zoos.

I asked Scorpion to provide us with a list of other poor animals that will need help our help. They told us about Mike, the little baby orphaned orangutan in Kandi Zoo (I call him Mikey) He was previously exploited for photo sessions with visitors. Scorpion managed to get the zoo to stop this.

At the moment Scorpion is asking for help to build Mikey a decent habitat as he is living in a small cage https://www.facebook.com/scorpionmonitor/videos/vb.606599662816555/854275678048951/?type=2&theater

They said that it will be hard to release Mikey back into the wild due to "situation" in Indonesia. So the plan is to go to Kandi zoo ( they want help) and determine what can be done to help Mikey. Rest assured that we will have conditions attached to helping them. It seems like animal acts in zoos are the 21st century circus and it has to be stopped!

Please go to Rebecca's GoFund page. Every $ helps. Many animals in Bandung zoo as well as other animals like Mikey need your help ://www.gofundme.com/sunbearsindonesia?viewupdates=1&rcid=1f065a42a5fb40e4ae64d818a111b5a9&utm_source=internal&utm_medium=email&utm_content=cta_button&utm_campaign=upd_n

Please share this petition and GoFund effort. As always thanks for your support.

Eye Spy a Cruelty-Free Lie: Take Action! Velour Lashes is an internationally recognized brand that sells 100% mink fur eyelash products while inexplicably marketing itself as "cruelty-free." Yes, you read that right. This company, which only sells 100% mink fur cosmetic products, is claiming that its production causes "absolutely no harm to animals." This is groundless, and must be challenged! TAKE ACTION

Dog Meat Factory Proposed in Ghana. Ghana, like Indonesia, is seeing growth in the dog meat trade while other countries are seeing a decline. Dog meat is considered a cultural delicacy throughout Ghana and it is the overall "preferred" meat. Even though the price of a dog is more expensive than other equivalently sized animals, it is the preferred delicacy due to the unsubstantiated belief that it gives one more energy. READ MORE

Action Needed to Help End the Killing of Feral Cats and Kittens!

According to The Humane Society of the United States, there are 40 million feral cats in the U.S. And since only two percent or so are currently spayed or neutered, they tend to procreate like crazy. Even just one pair of breeding cats, together with their offspring, can produce 420,000 kittens within seven years. And guess what … kitten season is almost here. Jointhe Women’s Humane Society in advocating for Trap, Neuter, Release programs for feral cats by signing this petition on Care2.
