CLAIR UPDATE: WE GOT MAJOR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE! We have scored our most devastating victory in our quest for combating the justice system! Over the past several months I have been working closely with the producers at ABC news, and yesterday they filmed a live event with Kenneth Clair. We have finally convinced ABC news, that our petition and drive to expose the prosecution in Orange County, California and relatively speaking throughout the nation, is newsworthy.
Of course, this news is a double shocker because over the last couple of months we have also been negotiating with “ Death Row Stories” which is a national and international organization seen on CNN, And produced by jigsaw productions. Through our negotiations with them, they had decided to do a full documentary on Kenneth Clair, and our movement. Their offices based in New York, and they are planning on coming out to California this month to do interviews, and the show is going to air sometime in July.
Also, over the past week as I have been recovering, we had managed to update our website at www.cjfordpi.com. We had given an old website, a new look, and we are now able to post documents, stories that you submit, or anything that we need now to move forward to assist all of the Kenneth Clair’s. We have even created a special page called Kenneth Clair Archives found under the :News & Stories tab.
With our new exposure and coverage, we will be able to accomplish everything that we have set out to do. This petition, and your support, has changed the discussion from politics back to injustice. These are major networks, nationwide, and we got the exposure. I am still in contact with Reason TV, who are also planning justice related media, based on our petition and struggle in behalf of Mr. Clair.
I have been exchanging information with other major media sources, my investigative results, and everything that we have worked on so hard, We are being solicited now, because everyone likes to get involved with something that is positive and moving forward and has shown the relentless energy of this campaign.
However, with all of this good news we still need to move forward. We still need to bring in as much money as we can to support our campaign. I am counting on every able supporter to send whatever they can so we can do this. Hopefully, we can have a rally, a very large rally, in August at Kenneth Clair’s next court date. Please stand with me on this.
As always, thank you for everything that you have done, that you are thinking of doing, and the things that you will be doing. This campaign has been successful, and I am sure that everyone that has signed this petition is proud to be behind a successful movement!

Oklahoma
recently made national news and not the good kind either. Following a spate of
bungled executions and an embarrassing admission that they used the wrong lethal
injection drug, an Oklahoma multi-county grand jury was tasked with
investigating the fiasco. Their findings were released last month, and they
were appalling.
The grand jury report revealed that prior to a scheduled execution, Oklahoma officials realized that they were in possession of a chemical normally used to de-ice runways, rather than the approved execution drug. When this was discovered, the Governor’s General Counsel urged corrections officials to carry out the execution anyway. He claimed that the drugs were close enough and flippantly instructed corrections officials to “Google it.” Thankfully the execution was stayed, but the grand jury report exposed widespread government incompetence and negligence, which is prompting more Americans to reconsider the death penalty.
Not long after the Oklahoma report was released, a former Texas death row inmate took an important step toward rectifying his wrongful conviction. Kerry Max Cook was found guilty and sentenced to die in 1978, but he was released in 1999, in part, because his case was marred by prosecutorial misconduct. However, the charges against him were never dropped. Nevertheless, Cook has always maintained his innocence, and earlier this month, he moved a little closer to officially clearing his name as prosecutors finally threw out the charges.
Conservatives Concerned in the Media
Following Oklahoma’s damning grand jury report, CCATDP was actively involved with the media, and we were featured in a host of outlets.
• The Washington Post, Business Insider, Daily Mail, Reason, and the New Yorker included our comments on Oklahoma’s lethal injection debacle.
• I was interviewed on the Capitol Hill Show with Tim Constantine and returned as a guest to Tipping Point with Liz Wheeler to discuss new developments in Oklahoma as well as in Florida.
• CCATDP was featured in another Washington Post article that was reprinted in the Salt Lake City Tribune and the Tulsa World.
• We were the central topic of a Governing Magazine story, and we also enjoyed mentions in Catholic News Life and Get Religion.
Upcoming
I will be heading to Denver, Colorado for the Western Conservative Summit, which is the largest conservative conference outside of Washington, DC. The gathering is July 1-3, and I will be joined by Better Priorities’ Stacy Anderson. Tickets are still available, and we would love to see you there!
From July 26-30, CCATDP’s Ben Jones and I will be in DC to participate in the Young Americans for Liberty national convention for the fourth year in a row. If you’re in the area, then make sure to drop by and say hello!
