The
Wildlife Aid team are regularly called out to birds stuck in warehouses, but no
two rescues are ever the same! Usually, the rescuers have only one chance to
catch the bird, because after that the bird gets wise to what is going on and
cannily avoids the nets. This bird of prey was 'almost' caught several times in
a row, before finally being netted by Simon. Most of the time, raptors get stuck
in such places after chasing a pigeon or other birds inside. They always fly up,
so they don't have the reflexes to fly down through the doors, which are wide
open for them! As this one was caught during the evening, we've waited until the
day after to release it during the daylight.
