With
an estimated cost of $2.6 billion, Los Angeles is welcoming the NFL back to the
area with the most expensive stadium ever.
The 300-acre development in
Inglewood may even triple the cost of the league's second most costly venue, New
Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
Currently the league's top venue, the Jersey
location had a cost of $1 billion.
With a capacity expected to exceed
100,000; the massive lot may also develop into a far larger commercial
establishment on par with theme parks.
Set at the former location of the
Hollywood Park race track, the complex has a footprint twice of Disneyland
Resort to it's south in Orange County.
The new stadium is expected to be
complete in time for the 2019 NFL season.
