#8 Terps Travel to Ohio State Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 8/7 Maryland men’s basketball team travels to Ohio State for a battle with the Buckeyes on Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS.

Storylines
Robert Carter and Rasheed Sulaimon each scored 17 points, and No. 8 Maryland used a late charge to beat No. 3 Iowa 74-68 on Thursday night, ending the Hawkeyes’ nine-game winning streak and handing them their first loss in league play. Maryland is now 9-10 at home against teams ranked third in the nation.

• Maryland is 10-1 when Sulaimon scores in double-figures. The Terps are outscoring foes by an average of 16.4 points per game in those contests.

• The Terps racked up another close victory against Iowa on Thursday and continue to lead the nation in games decided by six points or less. Maryland is 17-2 in such games since the 2014-15 campaign.

Robert Carter scored a career-high 25 points, Rasheed Sulaimon added a season-best 22 and Maryland bounced back from its first Big Ten loss of the season by breezing past Ohio State 100-65 on Jan. 16. It was the first time the Terps amassed 100 points in a game since Dec. 5, 2012 vs. UMES (100-68) and the first time they did so in conference play since a double-overtime win at Virginia Tech (104-100) on Feb. 27, 2010.

• Maryland is 11-0 following a loss the past two seasons. The last time the Terps lost back-to-back games was against Syracuse and Clemson on Feb. 24 and March 2, respectively, in the 2013-14 campaign. The Terps are defeating opponents by an average of 17.8 points per game following a loss.


Scouting Ohio State
• Ohio State topped Illinois, 68-63, in overtime on the road Thursday. The Buckeyes are 11-3 at home this season.

• Marc Loving leads the Buckeyes with 13.5 points per game. Keita Bates-Diop tops OSU on the glass, averaging 6.2 boards per game.

• Maryland trails in the all-time series, 5-3, but won the last meeting between the two programs, 100-65, 15 days ago in College Park.
