A few days ago, we went out to rescue a fox after receiving several disturbing calls from people who'd seen a fox running around their garden with an arrow through its neck. The fox was very mobile, so the chances of finding it, let alone catching it, were remote. Emma, one of our volunteers, spotted the poor fox in a garden next to the one we were called to. After jumping fences in pursuit of the fox, the rescue team had cornered it into a hedge. Luckily, or not so lucky for the fox, the arrow in its neck had caught on some branches, so it couldn't escape its hiding place. That was our chance! Simon skillfully got hold of the animal and brought it to the hospital. Watch the video to find out if the fox survived!

Target: Mrs. Daphne Harris, Chair for the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Goal: Find and prosecute the person who covered a cat in concrete to the fullest extent of the law.
A cat suffered and nearly died after being doused with concrete. The cat was found shivering on a front porch in Bristol, England. Urge the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) to find and prosecute the person responsible for this heinous act.
Faye Richards found Grant, a two-year-old orange cat, lying motionless on her front porch. His fur was so stiff that she mistook him for a package. His eyes had hardened shut due to the concrete. Richards took the cat to the vet where his fur had to be completely shaved off.
Though Grant escaped with only a few cuts and scrapes, it could have been worse. The vet claims that if the concrete had gotten into his lungs, than it could have been an entirely different outcome. Though no one has come forward to claim responsibility for this attack, an investigation is needed to prevent further acts of cruelty.
The RSPCA is an organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. It functions out of the U.K. and Australia and has offices stationed in nearly every city. If anybody can get to the bottom of this attack and prevent similar attacks in the future, it is them. Urge the RSPCA to investigate this attack and seek the harshest punishment possible for the culprit in order to protect the welfare of all animals.
Dear Mrs. Harris,
A cat suffered terribly after being doused with concrete and left for dead. If not for the kindness of Faye Richards, a Bristol resident, the cat would not have survived. We urge the RSPCA to investigate this case and punish the person responsible for this cruel act.
Richards found Grant, a two-year-old orange cat, lying motionless on her front porch. His fur had hardened to his body and he was unable to open his eyes. An emergency visit to the vet resulted in the removal of all of his fur in order to save his life.
Thanks to immediate interventions, Grant survived the attack with only minor injuries. However, it could have gone differently. If the concrete had gotten into his lungs, than he would likely not have survived. We demand an investigation into this attack and the prosecution of the person responsible for this heinous act of animal cruelty.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Amazing Dog Walks 200 Miles to Find the Woman Who Rescued Her.
As every canine lover knows, there are few lengths that a dog will not go to when expressing their loyalty and devotion to a much-loved human friend. They have been known to save lives, offer solace in times of grief, and travel great distances to be reunited with those they love. The story of Shavi, a Russian dog who traveled an unbelievable distance of two hundred miles to find the woman who first rescued her, is bound to leave you amazed!
We advise you to get those hankies ready, Green Monsters because this one is sure to touch your heart.
Last winter, Shavi had been living as a street dog in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, when she was injured in a hit-and-run accident. The terrified pooch was rescued by a woman named Nina Baranovskya, who agreed to foster her and nurse her back to health. During their time together, Nina provided Shavi with basic training and taught her how to walk again.
Recalling the moment they first met, she said, “After the anesthesia, when she saw me, she raised her weary eyes and timidly licked my hand.”
The pair spent six happy months together and became the best of friends.
However, Nina was unable to give Shavi a long-term home, as her apartment was too small, and she had too many work and family commitments demanding her attention. She searched for a suitable home for her beloved friend and finally found one in the region of Voronezh Oblast, almost 200 miles away from Rostov-on-Don.
Nina believed that this new rural location, where Shavi would have plenty of space to run and play, would be the best option for her.
Bu, a few days after moving to her new home, Shavi escaped. Two weeks after this incident, Nina was walking down the street when she felt something brush against her leg – and it was Shavi! Nina reportedly “burst into tears” on being reunited with her old friend … and so did Shavi.
“Most people don’t notice that dogs can laugh and cry, too,” Nina said. “Or maybe they don’t want to see.”
Following this, everyone involved accepted that Nina and Shavi were made for each other. The entire family are now living in a bigger apartment, where Shavi has the space she needs to “Of course, she has (now) remained with us for good,” Nina declared emphatically. “I would never give this kind of friend away again. Animals are the most loyal and loving creatures in the world. For every drop of human love, they are willing to give all of theirs in return, and I know that from personal experience. Shavi is like a child to me.”
While many people, moved by this incredible, heartwarming story, have offered Nina and her family money, she has declined all offers. “If you really want to help,” she explained, “I beg you, don’t ignore animals that need your help. I never grow tired of repeating this – animals are the most devoted and loving creatures. They need our love and care.”
Sniff … don’t you just love a happy ending, Green Monsters?thrive.

Cute Rescued Baby Sloths Learn To Climb.
A GROUP of doe-eyed sloths learn to climb by scaling and then swinging from the back of a rocking chair. Shot in May, this adorable footage was filmed by zoologist and broadcaster Lucy Cooke during a visit to the Toucan Rescue Ranch in Costa Rica. The wildlife rehabilitation centre uses a rocking chair to help teach the orphaned baby sloths how to climb – as the swaying motion is similar to a tree. Lucy, who has been called the ‘Spielberg' of sloth documentaries, has released a calendar dedicated to the super cute mammals.

The Look on This Donkey’s Face After He Was Saved From a Flood Will Make Your Day.
I must admit that I am a little biased in my love for hoomans. Being that I am a dog and the majority of the people I meet greet me not only with praise but also tons and tons of multi-flavored treats, I have to say that I think people are pretty dang great! Unfortunately, some people don’t always treat other animals with as much love and affection as they treat me … it’s a bizarro phenomenon that I have yet to wrap my little paws around … but nevertheless, I have to say that for every person who does something mean to an animal – there HAVE to be at least 1,000 more who do awesome things every day and just never get credit for it. Don’t worry little Green Monsters, I am here to bring some well-deserved praise to people who are the bee’s knees when it comes to being kind to animals.
Take this fella for example! On Imgur, one hooman posts ” My friend saved a donkey from drowning after floods in Ireland last night.” When I read this I was all “awww, that’s so niiiiiice!”
Doesn’t he look so sad and cold!
I was already convinced that was this kind dude did was absolutely cool … then I saw this:
LOOK AT THAT FACE! Is he not the happiest lil guy you ever did see?!
Doesn’t it just make your day known that one compassionate action can lead to something as incredible as the smile on this donkey’s face. Hey, just another little reminder of what happens when you do good things for others! All image source: Imgur
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Helps Save a Puppy With the Same Name!
Celebrity status comes with a huge amount of perks like money, free gifts, legions of adoring fans, and most importantly, influence. While the ability to influence others is awesome, it can also be a huge burden. In the words of the late Uncle Ben Parker from Spider-Man “With great power comes great responsibility.”
Luckily, it seems like we hear about celebrities doing something great for animals every day! From Bob Barker fighting against wild animal circuses to James Cameron advocating the importance of a plant-based diet on a world stage, celebrities are using their fame to help inspires to take positive action. Today we’re ecstatic to add another awesome celebrity to that roster: The Rock.
This is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – the dog. He was dumped at North Central Shelter with metal wiring wrapped tightly around his mouth. The wiring had to be removed with bolt cutters and he needed 17 stitches to heal, but that wasn’t nearly the worst of his problems.

Yasha and Misha Return to the Wild!
In this short video produced by IFAW, two male brown bears named Yasha and Misha are released back into the wild.
Back in March 2015, Yasha and Misha were orphaned when their mother was frightened from their den by the noise of tree-logging activities. The two orphans were rescued by IFAW's Orphan Bear Rescue Center, located 350km northwest of Moscow. OBRC rescues orphan baby bears, and then cares for them until they are old enough to be released back into the forest.
After seven months of rehabilitation, Yasha and Misha were finally released in the Kologriv Forest Nature Reserve in Kostroma Oblast, Russia.
In 2015, IFAW has returned 14 rescued orphaned bears back to the wild.

This Man Was Hospitalized After Saving a Dog From Drowning. You Won’t Believe Their Epic Reunion.
Pit Bulls have an unjustified and totally undeserved reputation for being bad, vicious dogs. But despite what some uninformed people might tell you, Pit Bulls can actually be some of the most loving, gentle dogs on the planet. Don’t believe us? Well, we think that this awesome story just might change your mind!
We’d like you to meet Karma and her guardian, Rick. They’ve been together for a long time and they do everything with each other!
Rick didn’t know anyone who could take care of Karma while he was gone and he had no other choice but to take her to the Villalobos Rescue Center while he was in the hospital. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Rick forgot to give the shelter a way to contact him afterward. Poor Karma sat in the shelter for days without hearing any news about her BFF and even the shelter staff started to lose hope that he’d ever return…
But then, two weeks later, Rick made an appearance at the shelter. The shelter staff was happy to see him alive and well, but Karma took it to a whole new level.
Karma was absolutely ecstatic to see her human again! Look at that heartwarming Pittie smile..
Heroic Rescuers Save Animals From Heavy Floods in Chennai, India.
South India has experienced unprecedented floods in recent weeks, killing over 300 people, displacing over 1.8 million, and causing an estimated $3 billion worth of damage to property. In the process, countless animal victims have been affected too, losing their lives, health, habitats or human guardians to the wreckage. The floods have been attributed to a combination of human-created climate change and the El Niňo weather pattern.
The city of Chennai has been particularly hard hit, with rescue and evacuation efforts still underway. However, the good news is that rescuers from Humane Society International (HSI) – who have previously stepped up to assist animals affected by the Nepal earthquake – are on the ground, ready and willing to help the most vulnerable victims of this disaster, animals.
In a recent update to their Facebook page, HSI shared information and photographs detailing their amazing rescue efforts.
There is no doubt that their work is improving traumatized animals’ chances of surviving the disaster.

PETA's fieldworkers provide chained dogs with the only attention and affection that many will ever know.
We cannot free them all from their chains, but we will never give up on them. Our fieldworkers check on them regularly, replacing old bedding, assessing their doghouses, providing water and food, loosening collars that have grown too tight, and politely urging reluctant guardians to be real companions to their animals by allowing them to live indoors with their families.
These Dogs Are So, So Happy to Be Adopted.
PETA and five area animal shelters—the Virginia Beach SPCA, the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter, the Norfolk Animal Care Center, Partners Among Cats and Canines, and the SPCA of Northeastern North Carolina—brought out almost two dozen of our sweetest canine candidates to strut their stuff on a ridiculously gorgeous fall day in PETA’s Bea Arthur Dog Park.
There was face-painting for the kiddies, a fierce corn hole competition, and delicious vegan food provided by Poor Boys Burgers, Seoul 757, and My Vegan Sweet Tooth. More than half of the dogs were adopted, making this fall’s Adopt-a-thon a wonderful success.
If you are interested in adopting, feel free to contact PETA or any of the participating shelters. There are many more of these sweet animals where they came from, so if you are thinking about adding a new dog or cat to your family, please visit your local shelter. Remember, always adopt, never shop!
We are so grateful and glad that organizations like Hope for Paws are working hard to put an end to dog homelessness and abuse. These creatures won’t hesitate to give us unconditional love, so it’s awesome that volunteers like these take their time to give some of that love back to them.
Have you ever thought of volunteering at your local shelter? We’re sure they could use the help!

Pitbull Befriends Rescued Kitten.
A stray PIT BULL has been found caring for a two-day-old kitten on the side of a road.
The heart-warming pair were discovered on March 17 and taken to the Mercy Animal Clinic in Garland, Texas, USA.
They were examined by Dr. Rick Hamlin and his team who revealed the kitten had been suckling from the pooch.
Nicknamed Pittie and Kitty, Dr. Hamlin admitted he was amazed how easy-going the pit bull was even allowing him to handle the kitten.
As Kitty's eyes were still shut the vet was able to identify the feline was no more than 10-days-old.
And Pittie had hanging mammary glands which allowed the team to see she had recently given milk.
The clinic are now scouting for potential owners for the pair - stipulating they are adopted together.
Man Broke Down Crying When His Puppy Got Hit By a Motorcycle. Then Rescuers Did Something Amazing.
You Won’t Believe the Transformation of This Puppy Found Behind a Dumpster.
Dogs are undoubtedly one of our favorite types of animal companions. They are endlessly loyal, always willing to go the extra mile to put smiles on our faces, and no matter what they are a constant source of unconditional love. Yet, despite our affinity for dogs, there are still millions of homeless pups living on the streets across the U.S. The good news is that there are many kind individuals and organizations working to rescue and rehome stray dogs – one of which, is L.A.-based Hope for Paws.
When the Hope For Paws team got a call about a puppy living behind a dumpster they assumed it’d be another easy rescue. After all, they deal with stuff like this all the time, right?
This is Ginnie. She was found living behind a dumpster all by herself.
Ginnie is an awesome dog with a bright future. We know that she’ll find her forever home in no time flat!
