Lion Ark is on a winning streak, collecting awards at all of the last four festivals it has screened at, winning most recently the jury prize of Best Documentary at The Alhambra Theatre Film Festival and the vote for Audience Choice out of all the features screened at The Buffalo Niagara Film Festival.
Since Lion Ark first burst onto the scene, it has been officially selected for twenty film festivals across the US and Europe, been nominated for a prestigious NAACP Award, racked up an impressive ten awards and secured a worldwide distribution deal with ITV GE.
Described by critics as “uplifting” and “the feel-good movie of the year” Lion Ark charts the dramatic rescue of 25 lions from circuses across Bolivia and follows a team from Animal Defenders International as they track down and save animals from illegal circuses that defy a new law banning animal acts.  The film culminates with the arrival of the lions at their new home at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado.
Director Tim Phillips and Producer Jan Creamer are undertaking a similarly epic mission in Peru, saving over 80 animals from circuses and the illegal wildlife trade, with nearly 40 monkeys and other native animals already relocated to jungle habitats in the Amazon.
Lion Ark has signed a worldwide distribution deal with ITV Global for worldwide television, video on demand, and DVD rights, and will be undertaking some final theatrical screenings in the coming months.
