PEACE DAY, 21 SEPTEMBER
Peace One Day will celebrate Peace Day, 21 September 2015 with the Peace One Day Youth Celebration in Kigali, Rwanda, inspiring and mobilising the youth of the Great Lakes region of Africa to take action in their homes, schools and communities.
This celebration will bring together thousands of young people from Rwanda to empower them to take part in and become the driving force behind the vision of a united and sustainable world, using Peace Day as a catalyst for action.
Remember Peace Day is not just about addressing armed conflict – it is about addressing the violence that takes place in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities. More violence is committed by the fist than by the gun so we all have a responsibility to work towards a more peaceful world. This celebration will empower a new generation of peacemakers to take the message of Peace Day to their homes, schools and communities spreading the word further than ever before.
So for Peace Day 2015, please stand together and take action for lasting peace in your home and community. Please visit www.peaceoneday.org for ideas and support in planning your Peace Day activity.
