Target: Morristown Hamblen Humane Society Animal Shelter Director, Pam Velder
Goal: Punish alleged animal control impersonators who have been stealing neighborhood pets from their homes.
A number of dogs have gone missing in Morristown, Tennessee and it is allegedly because a group of people are pretending to be animal control officers and stealing the neighborhood dogs. It has been reported that 10 dogs have disappeared in only a span of two weeks. The thieves also hit several neighborhoods nearby Morristown.
According to WBIR News, Morristown Hamblem Humane Society Animal Shelter Director Pam Velder explains that the organization has been getting calls about people seeing fake animal control officers snatch dogs from random backyards. The director and her staff have no records of sending animal control officers to those specific homes. Some families say that they had interactions with the alleged thieves, while some realized their dogs were missing when they got home from work. The animal control impersonators have been seen coming into the neighborhood on multiple occasions. Residents are being warned that if they see someone coming into their yards without a proper uniform or official badges from the Morristown Hamblem County then do not trust them.
Please sign this petition to demand that the animal shelter director and local authorities work together to find and punish the animal control impersonators.
Dear Director Pam Velder,
There have been allegations of animal control impersonators roaming the streets of Morristown and other neighborhoods in Tennessee. In the span of just two weeks, they have stolen 10 dogs from their owner’s homes and backyards. These people claim to work for the Morristown Hamblen Humane Society Animal Shelter, but do not have on a badge or clear identification.
The neighborhood needs all of the help they can get from the authorities of Morristown and your team at the Humane Society Animal Shelter to help find these criminals. These pets are being taken from loving homes and most likely being sold to other unsuspecting owners. No family with pets deserves to feel this form of grief. Please do what ever you can to find these dog thieves. If they have been successfully stealing pets for the last two weeks, then they are bound to come around again. These people deserve to be punished and put in jail for their crimes and those pets need to be put back in their original homes.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
